    So I need help understanding.

These 7 v 7 coaches and trainers like this footwork dude make money from I assume parents due to training their kids. But some of these kids are not exactly from wealthy families, so these mentors are doing this for free in some cases? But apparently not in others? Is the implication that guys like Fisher and Herman are paying these mentor/trainers?

And of course the HS coaches dislike these guys as it takes some of their power away as the trainer/ mentors are actually saying they are responsible for making the kids better players? Or what?

Any good articles with some insight?

And we know coaches at the HS and NCAA level have to play by certain rules. But these trainers/mentors/summer 7 v 7 coaches don’t? This is where the NCAA needs to step in. If I am beginning to understand this recruiting, this sounds like some real bas AAU guys in basketball, or even the shoe guys.

These vids that people post of these kids... who makes them? And are they payed for by parents? But some kids don’t have $ and this is not sounding so great. The UIL in Texas I imagine has very little power... I’m just getting bits and pieces.

    I need reads? Help?
I stop at “payed.” I kid... good questions, I’d like to hear about this too. Probably need a conversation with Justin Wells, Eric Nahlin, EJ Holland, or any of those dudes.

Do we need to be on commitment alert this weekend Floss?
The Cali kids usually love Austin.

No matter the timing, I have him in the class, but that's in no way a bold prediction.

Tech picks up RB Chux Nwabuko of Hutto.

I thought he may have been a preferred walk-on for UT.

The way I understand it is that FWK and others are paid by Nike or Under Armor to rep for them and to guide these young men to schools that have signed with said company. If 7 on 7 guy is contracted with Nike he is going to guide his kids to schools that are also under the Nike brand. Now this is all under the table, but you get the idea. There is nothing to stop a school from hiring FWK as a recruiting consultant if FWK has a kid they like (Aggy). This is the new form of cheating. I'm sure FWK is funneling money down to the players as well. He can, he has no affiliation with any school.

Per 24/7, 2020 five-star LB Sav'ell Smalls of Seattle, WA and 2020 five-star CB Kelee Ringo of Scottsdale, AZ will not be in Austin this weekend.

It sounds like the staff wants them in Austin on November 3rd for the West Virginia game instead.

He's small but if he can bulk up a bit and learn to block, he'd fit in great with Techs offense.

PWO for the Raiders makes more sense for him

On JUCO LB Caleb Johnson...OrangeBloods is saying he will be taking a redshirt this season due to an injury, so that will leave him with three years of eligibility at his next stop.

I guess on the horrible off chance that Sam gets hurt running that RPO offense that [Shane] will beg Herman to put in the 3rd stringer?
I'm not in the know about any "gentleman's agreement" to preserve Shane's apparent redshirt this season but one would assume Shane would have gotten some playing time this year if not. Would be interesting to see who Herman plays in the event of an Ehlinger injury. I've read Rising is the dude.

But I think Shane moves on after this season all things remaining equal. He didn't win the starting spot and also seems to have been recruited over. But you never know with injuries. Applewhite was once a 3rd stringer behind Adam Dunn and Marty Cherry.

Well I guess they could play Shane for 4 games and he'd still be OK to redshirt if I understand right.

You guys on here that know this stuff can help.

Email me with the name of an any article that can help me figure this out if you don’t want to bad mouth.

I found some board discussion on this on other boards but no journalist yet who has addressed the issues I brought up. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Vito for your summary. More please...

I just don’t have time to read all this unconnected information and put it together like the guys on here that really understand recruiting. I’m thinking the HS coaches must despise these guys, but I may be dead wrong.

He was behind Greg Cicero too. As a matter of fact , had it not been for a lower leg injury to Greg, the world probably never would’ve known of Major Applewhite the player. Probably still would’ve been a of a coach.
