Just came back from the Bulverde HEB.. it's like Y2K all over again.. a mad house..
The cashier told me people spending up to 800 bucks on stuff hahah..
Our country can and WILL survive this, but it is going to be bad any way you slice it up.

S y, don't return those just yet. When has the NWS ever gotten a weather forecast right in the SA area?
Those fvckers in OPEC better start cranking out the barrels and cranking down our costs.
True--I was just kidding anyway. I should have candles and batteries to begin with.
OPEC does not make refined crude... besides you can't ship it into the gulf right now anyway... OPEC is not the problem. .the estimated 100,000 chinese and india folks that buy a BRAND NEW car everyday is the problem..
Damn, the wife and I just got back into Galveston on Monday morning from our cruise and that night we saw the first warnings for Galveston.
Phew!
"This could bankrupt our country."
nah, the Repubs just "offset" Katrina costs by
cancelling $4B for Corp for Pub Broadcasting, which pretty much kills it,
cancelling the moon/mars project $44B,
etc, etc.
Howeever, $1.5T in tax cuts for the rich + corps (7 or 8 Katrinas) will be untouched.
The country is in EXCELLENT hands.![]()
There goes 10 percent of San Antonio's juice.. they are shutting down the STNP reactors...
^ Dude, take your pissant political talk to the Political Board.
Edit: this is meant for croutons
I always have plenty of candles & batteries.![]()
I was just thinking that a girl could never have too many batteries.....
At least you are back and safe. How was the cruise?
I wouldn't mind looking into a generator either, for that matter....![]()
Damn.....
How about a diesel powered hydraulic jackhammer?

In any case, they're all correct.
Im filling up my gas tanks tonight, by Saturday we will be at $3.00 again.
It already went up like 30 cents today..
If it hits either of the 2 refinery rows in Corpus or Houston we are looking at 6-10 dollar a gallon...
Good thing I just got gas yesterday at 2.69

I can say that I've never seen anything like this especially two very powerful hurricanes hit around the same area in a very little time. I just hope everybody stays safe. My cousins live in Galveston and they're coming down to stay with me in San Marcos. Speaking of gas, I just filled up for $2.49 at the Diamond Shamrock the other day at Schertz parkway but I guess this means no more coming home for the weekend for a while from San Marcos.
19 degree eye wall differntial. That might be larger than at any point during Katrina. I'm ready for this thing to break Katrina's marks. That is ing scary.
