Texas has the horses, they just have to be creative on offense in order to not rely on their stable of unreliable arms. Norvell showed some flashes of this.
I still say this will be the last year we will have a QB problem. I'm hoping we are selective with how we pass the ball, basically run the QB (Swoops/Heard) and rely on our stable of running backs. That should open up play action pass to our Wrs.
Manage the offense, don't take sacks, and don't turn the ball over. Basically look like Alabama's offense.

Or just go full Baylor 4th string QB mode and run the ball until someone stops it
Again, I must make this clear, this is the Charlie Strong team, he is 100% responsible for the product, if he can't get this team to win then it's time to get someone in hear who can.
If Tom Herman can take U of Houston recruits and beat FSU, that is the type of coach we need at Texas.
That is how I feel about it.
I think we will see a lot of this vs ND tbh
I thought that last year too. I think it would be a smart play, but I wouldn't count on it, imo
Without a passing game we are looking at another 5 to 7 win season. I really don't think Strong can survive it. I'm starting to think it's in his best interest to start Buschele (sp) and just let the chips fall where they may.
It blows me away and makes me lol that Tech can find walk on QBs that can play with success as freshmen and in 7 years, UT can't find anyone that can hit the side of DKR from 10 yards out
OrangeBloods saying QB Jerrod Heard has sustained an injury to his throwing shoulder.
No timetable for his return and Buechele is now the clear #2.
It's a new offense, a retread quarterback, and a true freshman. Burton is such a ing .
And it's spring practice.
At this point, I'd like to see Swoops and Buechele split time, one is the runner the other is the passer. In truth, it's up to our oline to give them the time to be successful.
It's always a new offense for any freshman. Baker Mayfield, Davis Webb, and Mahomes excelled just fine.
Well, there's a difference between Leach's offense, a competent line, and Baker Mayfield and Co. when compared to the show that masquerades for Texas. The quarterback struggles and reasons why have been well do ented.
Yeah, for 7 years and counting at the gaudiest football program in the nation ...
It's been a hoot to watch
-A&M finally offered CB Kary Vincent of Port Arthur Memorial, whose father played for the Aggies.
-Baylor has offered WR Omar Manning of Lancaster.
OrangeBloods reporting QB Jerrod Heard has a shoulder sprain after falling down at practice.
He could be back as early as next week and it isn't supposed to be serious.
But kirk Bohls said. .
Per TFB:
– JK Dobbins: La Grange (TX) Ohio State RB commit JK Dobbins and his mother will visit Columbus for the first time this weekend. After talking to JK and a source close to him, this visit is huge in terms of how much of a chance other schools have to flip him.
I expect to see JK back in Austin sometime either this spring or summer and RB coach Anthony Johnson hasn’t stopped recruiting Dobbins at all. Just wanted to pass along that this weekend is a big one in regards to Dobbin’ recruitment. – (Andrew
