Yeah honestly who cares about the loss tbh. Wemby putting on this kind of bounce-back performance spoke volumes. That’s what you wanted to see, and he showed it. Even when his teammates around him were playing like garbage. We win that game easily if the rest of the roster doesn’t the bed. Great performance by the Frenchman nonetheless. You love to see it.

It's sad that virtually every summer league team has a PG producing good numbers except the Spurs. Lead guards that can put up some points are a dime a dozen, yet the Spurs can't get one on their roster.

Obv Wemby is the far better player, but we have a sample size from last season that shows what Branham can do. Just like we shouldn't have overreacted to Wemby's first summer league game, we shouldn't overreact to tonight's game by Branham.

This is win without Branham who lost the game almost singlehandedly. That being said the win meant nothing and Wemby looked great.
I agree that tonight doesn't mean Branham can't be a solid NBA player. His 3 point shooting had actually been pretty encouraging prior to tonight, and I'm not worried about his mid-range or floater game. Still just seems so bad on defense and gets way too many shots blocked, though...think his ceiling is being a 6th man type guy who can keep the 2nd unit offense afloat.
The difference is obviously that Branham has a year of NBA experience. It's not unreasonable that Wemby struggles in his first-ever game as a Spur. But Branham played 66 games in the NBA last year.
Now, with the said, claiming that they should "trade him now" is stupid. Obviously. But it's not unreasonable to look at that stat-line and realize that he's still very much a project.

Yeah these other spares need to know their ing role. Wes not getting the ball back to Wemby when he was about to blow the roof off the building was infuriating.
Branham just needs to figure out how to get himself back in rhythm, he wasn’t getting to his usual spots most of the game and passed on some open shots and took a bunch of bad ones.
