Game 3 Overview
With the Spurs seizing the 2-0 advantage the Cavaliers losing game 3 at home would be the nail in the Cavaliers 06-07 campaign coffin. Where from the way I see it the Cavaliers are handing over the hammer.
Here’s the Look
It’s being alleged that Daniel Gibson will start in place of the hobbled veteran Larry Hughes. As I see it Gibson is a contributor but he’s in no way ready to handle what a seasoned Popovich and athletically seasoned and aggressive Tony Parker will flip on him.
See with the hobbled Hughes starting the game afforded the Cavaliers to buy valuable minutes to floor a nicked up yet still experienced and long bodied defender. Which preserved their depth of having Gibson as the change of pace shot artist to change the dynamics to attack a more fatigued Spurs team,..Gibson also was being played out of chemistry alongside Damon Jones by Mike Brown also.
Where in starting Gibson with Mike Browns woeful negligence to have groomed him. He’s somewhat acclimated by getting late playoff minutes. But to start him at this juncture is a combo Cavaliers disadvantage of reversing the polarity of having a veteran like Hughes. Start the game to make Parker expend energy and having the availability of the rookie to strike at times throughout the game having watched the manner of attack,..it’s called game management scripting with purpose and intent.
See not that Gibson’s not a good player because he most certainly is. Yet it was that lack of grooming that left that same rookie fouling the 3 point shooter and broke the back of the LeBron James led Cavaliers desperation comeback effort,..look for Gibson to collect fouls to limit his playing availability by being challenged on the attack EARLY.
But by the Cavaliers not having a coach and the impostor perched in the position thinks his switch is ingenious. Which on review aside from being the same Mike Brown individual that dared try to behead the Spurs by showing Tim Duncan a stagnant halfcourt set complete with an ill scripted defense?,..POW.
On the continuation he’s yet the same Mike Brown clipboard maven who in game 2. Displayed another move of his idea of wizardry by pulling LeBron James off the floor for close to 10 minutes of a 48 minute game for having collected a 2 foul from playing help defense in the post via reacting as a result of pathetic defensive script,..the Brown maneuver surrendered the quarter, threw his team and star out of sync cost them a shot at the game and LeBron finished with only 3 fouls.
Note: Who in the world would think that his egregious lack of grasp on the art of coaching. Is as valuable or even comparable to what LeBron can muster on the floor?,..Mike Brown,.. and he absorbed another loss.
The Here and Now
Now with having the Cavaliers to their home stand as their last chance for romance. The pseudo coach has faltered to listening to the likes of an absolute oblivious Steven A. Smith. Leading the pack of the cries of a number of other wrong-way media swivel heads that perch as knee jerk analysis.
To now come to the conclusion that starting { feeding } the rookie Gibson to a Spurs coach who’s out witted Mike Brown mercilessly. Will now be the salivating opposition giving the destruction order to Tony Parker to take Gibson to school and slam the playoff and championship door on the Cavaliers on their initial advantage of home court,..what a way to go.
UPDATE: Now at the time of this writing it’s being reported that Larry Hughes won’t even dress for the game. Which is no doubt a move where the player covers the coaching decision so on the backfire it will appear it was inevitable,..Hughes has shown he was good for stealing 10 experienced spot minutes and Mike Brown was clearly blowing how he was to be employed.
To be honest my liking the Cavaliers as an iden y in the fan sense I’d like to see them win. But as a refined basketball purist from what I know and employing it on what I see that’s yet to be taught to Mike Brown. Conflicts with the current Cavalier clamoring philosophy and trying to reverse the roles of Hughes and Gibson takes away the change of pace matchup’s. Now what he’s managed is to script a Spurs edge and this latest maneuver merely plays into a Spurs sweep.
Unless we see phantom call’s of Bruce Bowen being called out of bounds variety { he wasn’t anywhere close }. Along with the blatant ref assistance witnessed by Tim Duncan getting whistled for defensively maintaining his position as a vertical defender { in honesty no way did he foul LeBron }.
The only thing that will stop the immeasurably better coached, scripted and orchestrating Spurs from making a last stand superior basketball IQ statement. In route to yet again dispatch what can best be cited as the oppositions hapless scripting. Would be more phantom calls to reverse ball possession and possibly limit players availability. That’s been witnessed in game 2 to the degree that undoubtedly the ref’s / league felt was required to try to tighten up the game.
For which via this lasted gaffe I certainly don’t perceive Mike Brown will adjust in the manner I detailed in game 2 oversight.
So from what he’s shown I see nothing else but ref’s impeding the path. From them feeding off the Cavaliers iden y which I’ve got a history by birth locality exposure to having fostered a fan interest in.
I’m still a Cavaliers fan in spite that they’ve toiled in atrocious obscurity. I’d love to see it differently but via knowledge and love of the game itself. I refuse to insult my own intelligence to favor being a trumpeting low road homer.
I’d called the series to the Cavaliers because realistically they do have the athletic ability to compete with and beat the this extremely good Spurs team. However with an imbalance of understanding on how it would have to be done. Knowing is half the battle and knowing the game as I do and refusing to dummy down in regards to the Cavaliers most glaring weakness,..it is what it is.

The Spurs are now getting beat on the glass now because they're playing on the fly and not stagnated off slow developing ill scripted looks. So Illgauskas is playing his game of TALL ball and the guards are able to come to help on the boards to play the miss on help cleanup,..displacing the Spurs by that MOVEMENT.
The only thing is they're impatient off the looks in the post and getting their passes picked off and losing both possessions and the attrition battle,..that happens when you know your back is against the wall.
The key is the affect of Gibson trying to log so many minutes and starting. Has cost the shot artist Gibson his rhythm off the look and it's allowing the Spurs to collapse and pick those attempts at the post entry passes off,..losing Gibson's shot is costly.

What you just saw is in a open floor game with a motion scheme that I pointed out for game 2. He just out scored, out produced and out defended Finley and Ginobili combined,..you aren't even smart enough to know what I told you and what you just got exposed to.
Playing that style those Cavaliers players were a far different team than what you were accustomed to seeing. The key that Mike Brown botched this time is he foolishly taxed his strike shooter,..Gibson lost his edge being pushed in as a starter without someone else taking the initial defensive minutes.
I just told you that in the game 3 overview before the ball was even tipped,..they lost by 3 and Gibson went 1-10 and 0-5 from the arc playing out of flow.
If you'd read what I foretold after I saw how foolishly Mike Brown managed the script. You'd has sworn I saw this game even before it was played complete with specifics,..you try finding that anywhere else.
