Only way the Spurs should make a trade this week is if it's for Tatum and the Sacramento or Memphis pick, plus whatever crap other than Horford that Boston needs to throw in to make the trade legal. Ingram + Kuzma is a trade you make in a month or two if all other options have been exhausted.

I don't understand people who don't want to trade Kawhi to the Lakers.... ok he may want only lakers and we will fulfill his desire but if the trade give us randle kuzma and ingram + pick/picks ( at least ingram randle and picks) , imo we would not find better young guys with another team.

Ingram is a huge question mark, Kuzma is a warm body, and those picks will be , once Kawhi gets there.

Fultz has both a higher ceiling and lower floor than Ingram, Saric is...euro Kuzma, but that pick...that 2021 Miami pick is UNPROTECTED and could win you the lottery. Even Boston's Sacto is top 1 protected against a lottery win.

The Supermax requires some trust it would seem.

What would prevent Kawhi from signing the SuperMax (with a no-trade) then sitting out another season and demanding a trade to the Lakers.

The Spurs would probably get even less and Kawhi would get his Supermax (which the Lakers couldn't otherwise offer him).

Without trust, nothing works.

Its a negotiating tactic, they are playing the "We have lots of options we may just keep him and lock him up". Teams like the Lakers panic and it ups the trade package. He will be traded.
