I don't know about Danny... but LMA asked out based on what we know, which is not from any personal knowledge of course... rumors, media, rumblings, plus LMA being worse than a highschooler with twitter and putting his home on sale. connect the dots.
to me the Danny development (and this is speculation) could have come up later by other teams (we know about the Cavs of course) expressing interest in him. And at that point, PATFO maybe was exploring adding him as sweetener, bc they also had Simmons wanting a signficant pay raise.. and maybe the player/pick coming back in that deal was worth it. But it didn't happen. Maybe that is when it all went to . Can't blame PATFO if LMA value is so depressed, they reportedly had a steep price on Danny anyways.
Right now, we shall see what they do. Looks like maybe a switch of Dedmon for some other big, and maybe Hanga. I don't expect much at this point.
Best to hope that Grizzles give up Gasol to the Spurs.
If Memphis trades Gasol they don't want 32yo LMA as the return they want young assets. Spurs do not have the assets to make the trade.
