If Bertrans, Murray and Anderson play no better than LJC the Spurs are truly in deep and might as well think about going full rebuild.
Contracts in Europe are generally reported in after-tax money iirc. Given the top tax rate of 40% for income over $400k in America and state jock taxes, $1.5M after tax over two years could very well be $1.3M per year against the cap.

Does David Lee commit to GSW? Is Josh Smith still alive? These are the remaining PF after Thomas Robinson and Amare.
I'd disagree, Deli is probably a better play maker but not the shooter Mills. I think the rest is up for debate but if teams had their choice of a PG that can play off ball, they'd take Mills
Damien Inglis? Now y'all are reaching like a mother er![]()
Count me in for Inglis over LJC if money us equal.
I think some are too quick to dismiss LJC. I think we see rapid growth now that he is stateside. This is where he wants to be. Being in a professional franchise will help this kid tremendously. And as the 3rd PF there isn't huge expectations on him. Unless your some here who expect hall of fame play from end of the roster guys.
Rumor: J.R. Smith wants $15 million per year from Cavaliers
J.R. Smith will probably re-sign with the Cavaliers. But… Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders: That request doesn’t seem so outlandish to me, but then again, I didn’t expect Smith to have such a hard time in free agency last summer. Simply, the capped-out Cavaliers have no mechanism to adequately replace Smith if he leaves. They can pay Smith big money, because they have his Bird Rights. They can’t just allocate it to an outside free agent. Can they — as a win-now team featuring LeBron James, who shares an agent with Smith — really afford not to appease Smith? This is starting to resemble the Tristan Thompson situation. Thompson, another Rich Paul client, didn’t sign until the fall, even as other

Restricted free agent Miles Plumlee and the Bucks have come to terms on a four-year, $52 million deal, agent Mark Bartelstein tells ESPN.
So much for him being a bargain-bin big.
I think the Spurs missed a great pick in Tyler Ulis. That kid is going to be good. He's compe ive as and isn't afraid to take big shots. He's also quick and has terrific court vision. He would have been an immediate contributor. I guess the F.O. saw a bigger need in bringing in Murray. Perhaps he has more upside.
Ulis is much more of a finished product; what you see now is basically what you're going to get. His skill set is great for a PG but his lack of height will keep his ceiling at Isaiah Thomas.
Does anyone know if Jason Thompson is still available? I always thought he was a poor man's version of LaMarcus and wondered how he'd have turned out if he hadn't been in Sacramento.
Any news or thoughts on him? Might be good as the fourth big.
Well looks like Monroe will get traded. Hensen will split minutes at the center and Thon Maker will be the third center. Parker, Teletovic, and bit of Greek Freak will play the majority of the 4. So Monroe must be on the block. His contact isn't too bad comparing it to other contracts this season. Mozgov is getting paid 1mil less lol.
Clearly more upside and more versatile. We're talking 6'4 in Murray with wingspan and Ullis is barley 6'0
Ulis is barely 5'10.
Things will likely be quiet between now and training camp. The Spurs only need to add a final big to the roster, which is almost certain to be one of their camp attendees.
Something unexpected could happen with Westbrook that will breath new life into the trade market. So I guess it's wait and see there.
One of Okafor and Noel will be moved too. I see some posters suggesting Danny Green plus more assets for Noel, but this is backwards. Danny Green shouldn't traded, and he has more trade value than either of Noel or Okafor. I don't see the Spurs moving on Green for either player, straight up. Nor do I see an offer like Noel + Covington as enough to intrigue Spurs. Green plus a random camper is better for Spurs.
I don't think the team moves Mills, but if they traded a current rotation player for another big, Mills is the player the Spurs would move. But for whom? Aron Baynes? Walter Tavaras? Kyle O'Quinn? Jeff Withey? None of those trades make sense.
Green fits a position and need. Noel may start of Gasol, but Gasol would get more minutes. So I wouldn't even really do a straight up trade.
Tyler ulis topping rookie ladder

Not only is Ulis short but he's also skinny unlike Isaiah who's built like a tank.
Noel for Green is pretty lop sided, a prospect for a top 7 perimeter defender and 10 best shooters in the NBA. Spurs should have to have a lot of confidence in Simmons and a really like what they see in Noel going forward.
Yeah. I see how my post, poorly worded as it is, could be misconstrued. I don't think Spurs should go anywhere near trading Green for Noel or Okafor without getting a lot more back in the deal.
wanted to trade tiago for henson a very long time ago. happy we got dedmon.
I was in the trade Green at the start of the offseason crew. Especially if he was going to bring back a top 10 pick. But now it is a much scarier proposition. Because there isn't anything out there to replace him with. But if Philly was willing to do Green for Noel and Timothe Luwawu I might listen. Timothe is billed as a 3andD player. But he is very long and athletic. He also drives and finishes better than Green. But his shot has not been proven in the NBA like Greens.
Isaiah thomas has had time to bulk up ulis will have time to do same. If his ceiling is Thomas thats not a bad thing.
