surprised at the frustration on here due to the lack of moves. Are you all new Spurs fans? Standing pat in the offseason is PATFO's signature move.
Next we're going to hear the re-signing of Gasol and Simmons and this forum will really blow up.
NBA point guards are so athletic. I cannot see Teodosic being succesful against that. That's all

But enough about Danny
I'm starting to wonder if the signing date is pushed back or something.... I haven't heard or seen any actual signings yet...
, is ST broken??? No one is posting anything! Am I trippin??

A couple more hours to go.The moratorium period ends at 12:01 p.m. ET on July 6.
PATFO silence is very interesting... brewing a blockbuster trade perhaps?
Spurs have a problem of having too many guards, so a trade is definitely brewing.
Parker - injured
Mills - undersized on 4 year contract.
Forbes - unsigned, but shot 6-8 from 3 in SL game
White - exceeding expectations
Murray - disappointing SL play
Hanga - not signed, 3 and D guy
Green - trade rumours, but all defensive 2nd team
Simmons - not signed, but Spurs with offer and RFA
Ginobili - not signed, but may come back
That's 8 players with the reality that both Leonard and Anderson can play in the backcourt.

Thanks bro... I was under the impression it started last night at 12:01am. Lol I'm like shhhit, I don't see anyone signing. All these agreements but no one is signing. Did everyone pull a Deandre Jordan
Problem is while the Spurs stand pat, everyone else seems to be getting better.
The Spurs know they were so good last year, they can afford to bring back the same team.
Kind of. Got to get rid of gasol though
Maybe that's the case. See what young guys can bring on bigger role, and try to adapt next year. Most teams will be out of the cap space next year, and there will be many all-star snubs or failed all-star packing projects, and those guys will be available for grabs.
Can Green and LMA play better or not worse ? Yeah, why not, both on contract years so hopefully motivation is there.
Can Anderson, Bertans, Murray be valueable nba players ? Why not, we will see.
Can Kawhi be even better ? Sure.
Can Gasol at least keep being relevant for 20 minutes a game ? Hope so.
Can Simmons keep improving, and average like 12ppg ? Will see, why not.
System is still great, couple of players should make improvments, hopefully noone will fall of the cliff. Spurs were still 3rd best team last year, they've lost Parker and probably Dedmon, but young core can still improve, and hopefully vets won't slump even harder. It would be nice to add guys like Rose, CJ Miles or Gay.
Most team improved, but depleted their depth. I think depth will be very important this year, with west being packed as much as ever. I doubt there will be easy road games in the West. Teams like Lakers, Sacramento or Dallas aren't as bad as Knicks or Nets. And you have 50 games with western division teams.
Sure it sucks that the spurs at the moment haven't done anything to bolster the roster but maybe the rox and thunder moves isn't such a bad thing. It just means tougher series for the worriers imo. I also understand though it means tougher matchups for us too.
If Popovich can take Kawhi and his group of flotsam and jetsam past the second round again he is truly GOAT coach, all time, all sports.
What really would have worked out for spurs? Paul for parker? Thats about the only piece i would want out of free agency unless spurs could get haywood. But then spurs would have another hole to fill. Boring is what has made the spurs the best organization in sports for 20 years and change.
The problem is they also do the same thing at the trade deadline. They NEED to actually do something this time around. They can't stand pat both now and at the trade deadline. They need to find a new signature move.
Yeah, I thought the same thing, I thought it was AM that the signings can take place. I was wondering why there is no activity. It was becoming a little trippy.
They are not called Standing PATfo for nothing.
Would you gamble on the future?

We don't have a contract bad enough that we'd take Parsons to get rid of it.
Awful proposal. No thanks
why would they trade for Tony parker when they already have Mike Conley?
Holy at parsons making more than gasol. That dude has an incredible agent.
Just an effect of different years, different cap. It's also why Aldridge/Kawhi two summers ago came at such reasonable max levels. I understand why the NBAPA didn't do it (players want locked in earnings) but I'm surprised salaries weren't set as a percentage of the cap. This would have offset issues of these huge jumps and allowed all players to participate in them. At the very least, cap numbers should be based on % of cap while actual salaries should be dollars.
In retrospect, this would have also prevented Durant to Warriors and probably Aldridge to Spurs.
I will not take Parsons because he's injury prone.
