The Spurs are basically the 2013 Memphis Grizzlies.
they have been playing like for the whole month now. There is a 0 chance they defeat the Thunder with this kind of bull .
The Spurs are basically the 2013 Memphis Grizzlies.
No one in the west is playing great basketball right now tbh. We are fine.
I have zero faith in our offense on the road. , hardly have any faith in our offense at home.
The Spurs will probably wind up winning this game by a healthy double digits, but the problems with this team are still not solved.
It's not possible to reinvent an offense in a few practices before the playoffs begin.
As DPG said in another thread, the looks are there. Green and Mills just can't hit . And Parker has regressed...again. It's LMA and Kawhi against the world, basically.
Dang funny this team wins 69 of 84 games and this entire board says they can't win. It appears that somewhere along the line they have learn how to win in adverse conditions. Tonight is adverse conditions. This is the roughest game I have seen this season. Most physical from anyone. This is the only way Memphis can stay in the game. Refs are looking to move on. I have a feeling 2nd half will be a lot different.
The le of this thread sums up 80% of the active posters on this board tbh
Spurs are fine.
Imo, it's not the looks, it's the unsuccessful transition from a motion offense to an iso offense.
The spurs run a very fast motion offense. They post up every one in awhile from whence the poster is looking to pass it out of a double more than to shoot. Our issue is the shooters have all gone cold and lost their confidence.
We constantly posted up Duncan and Diaw when we won with the beautiful game.
It's weird how everyone forgets that. Diaw almost was the MVP.
Memphis playing great. Good, tough D.
Where are the gutless personalities after a 9-point Spurs win?
This is below the teams season point differential and this is the worst playoff team in modern NBA history probably. I'm worried. I don't think it's effort - that's what being gutless is. I think it's actual issues that are concerning.
this crying ass thread with a whiney ass got OP who likes more than he likes breathing
Memphis played like a team fighting off elimination and still lost comfortably.
On to the closeout.
Eat a Snickers.
Co-sign. I'm fine with their effort and fight they showed down the stretch. I just have serious concerns about the offense and question their ability to get buckets down the stretch of games against good defenses...particularly on the road.
I've seen some good things, but everything on offense looks choppy. Maybe it's the pace of this series. Maybe it's the offense still struggling to hit good looks at a normal clip like they were the first half of the season. I don't know.
I just know that it's hard to tell vs this level of opponent. Luckily, the defensive effort is there, the 3ball is falling more & guys seem engaged. We will see how they do vs a great opponent like OKC.
Well, that's exactly what the Spurs did. They broke open a close game down the stretch and won against a tough defensive effort by Memphis.
It's not just that tbh. The team in general is just not in sync; too many stationary players on offense, little ball movement, poor shooting across the board outside Kawhi and LMA, and that's just on offense. Defensively, despite how elite they've looked on that end, has had issues with a lack of communication and confusion on where to be. If this were just an issue over the past week or two I'd chalk it up to coasting, but it's been a well-do ented problem for nearly two months now.
Memphis giving a good effort doesn't change the fact they are not a good defense. They aren't. They are average to below average in every way measurable.
They play hard. That's commendable. Spurs did a fantastic job of not turning it over which is how MEM stays a mediocre defensive team vs an awful one. Spurs hit 3's. Spurs kept the FTA's close. It was still a very close game almost all the way vs a very, very bad opponent.
Again, I'm thinking too much and should just enjoy it for what it is.
Seriously though...this thread should have died a 5 redemption tbh. Bumping it is just stupid. 2011 is a lifetime ago.
Parker showing up once very 10 games isn't going to help this team get past the 2nd round.
