Well at least you bring up a valid point, he IS playing well with Splitter, Green, and Neal. I think Blair could too though. And I still think Bonner would do a better job starting right now than Blair.
I disagree. I think Blair will it all up. He s up everything. Unless he gets it together I'd like to trade him.

Blair got zero points, but still had a great game because of the work he did on Scola.

Bonner leads the team in rebounding with 10.

Neal hitting ridiculous big shots - looking like the Real Neal again.

Splitter comes in and looks unstoppable, and gets pulled after just a few minutes.

Danny Green does his usual stat sheet stuffing, plus a lot of stuff that doesn't show up on the sheet.

Anderson's one big 3-pointer almost forgotten in all the excitement.

Parker speeding past everybody puts up a quiet 24 points.

Kawhi may be in the doghouse.

    Jefferson... was Jefferson here?

Oh, and Timmy. Just dominating the 3rd to even things up. Workhorse when we needed it.
Missed most of the 2nd half but here are some of my thoughts about your thoughts.

Bonner is on fire right now. You can kind of see a little swagger to him. He even got comfortable enough to try and drive the ball again. The only time he looks like the pussy version of Bonner is when hes sprinting because.. well he has an awkward looking sprint.

Kawhi was ineffective on Martin (once again) so maybe was pulled because of that. Most likely the reason he didn't get much burn after getting burned.

Why play Splitter if were not going to pass the ball to him. You can actually hear the frustration in Sean's voice "give it to him damn it!"

Don't think Neal is capable/comfortable of making a pass to players on his left side unless its a straight forward stand still swing.

Missed Duncan's dominance but from the shot chart it looks like everything was in the post. Awesome to see that Timmay went retro. I stopped around the time Duncan was fouled for the 3rd straight time and it was obvious that they were going making a priority to go inside. Wonder if it would have been effective in the 2nd with Tiago instead of all those long chucked jumpers.

I don't think you can really blame Kawhi for not being able to stop Kevin Martin tonight. He's a vet, Kawhi's a rookie with a high ceiling, but he's still a rookie. The defensive potential is there, but you can't expect him to waltz right in rookie year and stop every team's #1 option on a night in night out basis. It impresses the out of me that he can stop even a few of these guys already.

Kawhi was ineffective on Martin (once again) so maybe was pulled because of that. Martin is a great scorer, and a really tough cover. Nobody is going to totally shut him down. I don't really think Kawhi is in the permanent doghouse. But it definitely wasn't his night.

Don't think Neal is capable/comfortable of making a pass to players on his left side unless its a straight forward stand still swing. Great observation. It would explain a lot. I'll watch for it.

Duncan was just taking it straight to them. If I remember right, he started the quarter with a pair of missed chip shots, and I thought it was all over. But then he just started forcing his will on them. A lot of guys contributed, but Tim's play is what broke the Rockets down. They didn't give up, by any means, but you could tell they knew they were beaten.

Hopefully Kevin Martin is just a really, really bad matchup for Kawhi or something because Kawhi completely shut down Rudy Gay the other night. A head scratcher indeed....

Martin is just a frustrating chucker. I wouldn't put too much blame on Kawhi.

Just a really tough matchup for Kawhi and the whole team, tbh.Completely different players. Spurs really don't have a player that can guard the Jason Terry/Kevin Martins of the world where they are just gonna run the defender through screen after screen.

I'd say TP might be the best at guarding those type of guys but he obviously cant have that task as well without Manu.

I like Green, but when he was on Martin, he got beaten a lot too. The Rockets set good picks, and Martin knows how to use them.

absolutely, not a lot of assists tonite tough but the game had anyway a very low level of assists for both team. He has picked up his defense in the second half and was very active. I think we can be totally reassured regarding TP's health it was just a tough start of season with a little bit of rust probably.

amazing game for Tim who looked very good and one of the best game I saw from the red rocket
I loved the way TP played tonight. Look, the assists are great, but the Spurs desperately need TP to score. When he's aggressive and quick and in attack mode, it's natural and when he's at his best. This Lebron-esque style of feeling things out, getting others involved then trying to turn it on only works when you have Lebron-esque talent and TP doesn't. He's good enough to be successful at it sometimes, but it doesn't look natural.

I'm still not sold on TP's athleticism. Even guys who have declined some, still have moments where they look like their old selves. He's definitely gotten better as the season has progressed but he still isn't getting into the paint or finishing nearly at the level he was before. He still has quite a few outings where he looks significantly slower IMO. Overall though, he's adjusted well and played really good basketball since the beginning of the season.

True. I swear Martin seems to always go off on the Spurs and only the Spurs. Every other game I check Houston's box score and he only scores 10-15 points or so....

what I like lately is that he is playing according to what the game is offering him. Last game his JS wasn't falling, he didn't force it and focused on dishing assists (I think he took only 8 or 9 FGA) tonite he was feelin' it and went for 16 FGAs.

Wow! I thought it's game over before the 2nd Quarter end because Martin/Lee was unstoppable and I chose to sleep. It's a good thing that Thunder won over Mavs. And also, Bucks defeated Heat again after having a 17 points lead during the 1st Quarter. Wow.

If TD and Splitter started they both could probably have dropped 20 on the Rockets frontline. Pop is limiting the ceiling of this team by limiting Tiago's minutes. The team can be much better with Tiago better integrated. It might not matter as much now but it will matter in the playoffs. I'll say it now. Pop's not winning any playoffs series with Bonner getting more minutes than Tiago.

Leonard is a SF ..considering that.. asking him to guard 2 guards like Martin who constantly run through screens is asking alot. You are better off going with speed in those matchups as opposed to size and length. If anything, TP on Martin and Leonard on Lowrey would probably work better but you don't want to tire ur PG out chasing a chucker through screens.

Defensive specialists always have one type of scorer they have trouble with.. Bowen always had trouble with thicker/stockier SF's like Bonzi Wells and Artest who post up. Leonard's achilles heal will always be those K-Mart/Ray Allen types who utilize screens. But that's ok because the majority of those guys are chuckers who need screens because they can't create their own shot.

Leonard will have more success against the more elite scores who can create their own shot.

Anyone else see the game recap on nba.com? Watch the Houston bench when the Spurs make their comeback. It's very funny to watch because the Rockets bench kept getting so excited every time one of their guys scored.
