Why are they dressing like kevlar ninjas?
Law enforcement has always been "militarized", tbh. As long as they don't start using grenades, tanks, etc., I don't see what the big deal is. Is it the camo that bugs people out. In the 1930's, cops carried Tommy guns because they were matching the firepower they were going up against.

uhhh...no it hasn't always been militarized. michael render breaks it down perfectly starting at the 1:30 mark. what bugs people out are cops who aren't from that community terrorizing the same people they were sworn to protect.
They weren't going against an army when they dressed up like one.
Face it. The cops' heavy handed response made the situation a lot worse.
There is NO dash cam video!!!! They didn't install them because they claim it costs them $3,000.00 each to install... Now I don't dispute that there's a cozy contract with some company that overcharges the out of it, but it's ridiculous that they have money for SWAT teams and military teams, but no money for something that's literally there to bring transparency and accountability. Heck, it could've easily exonerated the cop right here.
The whole 'state of mind' thing is a distraction. There's going to be a toxicology report, and we'll know if he was high/drunk/etc... and it's useless because it tells you absolutely nothing of what happened. Nothing. You can't even say the cop stopped them because of that, because the shop owner didn't even report that until after the whole thing went down. Personally, I think it backfired. It reeked of excuse, it came like a week after the events, after the cops were basically in an omerta. That's just IMO.
