lol Popeye jaw
Ballgame. Indians 2, Media 1.
That pitching finna carrying them to a WS at this rate
Tough loss there. That's gonna make the 12 hr drive to Chicago feel even longer tonight, tbh.
To hear those Fox announcers I think somebody just died.
tee, hee.
12,000 for home games in the heat of a pennant race and it's jammed for a road game in October. Welcome to Cleveland.
At the very least the Cubs can't win it in Chicago now.
Maddon seriously needs to drill into his team to RUN HARD on every batted ball. They got away with it twice, but now it just might've cost them the series (gotta face Kluber and Miller twice now. Good luck). Soler has a 90% chance of an inside the park homerun if he sprinted head first out of the box like we all were taught in in' Little League. But no. He assumed a foul ball or caught ball and just lollygagged down to first before turning on the jets.
Indians pitching was pretty masterful, though. They didn't miss their key spots all night. Kept the ball low in the zone all night in a windy Wrigley. And when they needed to go high in the zone, they hit it. Cubs are an exceptional bounce back team, so tomorrow is going to be interesting.
A lot more traffic when the Tribe win here, interesting.
Francona is the GOAT. No debate. Most profitable MLB team for me this year gonna pull it off.
I thought it a terrible decision to lift Miller, but, I was wrong.
What I don't understand is why Francona didn't do a full double switch to shove Miller 9 places away.
Awful game from the Cubs thus far. Homerun swings during every AB. Errors. Their pitchers constantly behind in the count. The way they're approaching hitting in this game is the equivalent of taking contested jumpshots in basketball, whereas the Indians are executing their offense.
If they can't beat Bauer at home tomorrow...![]()
Leadoff double and couldn't scratch.
And that inning had WAY more to do with the Cubs impatience and stupidity than Kluber. Swinging at 10 straight pitches![]()
Cubs listened to Media and waited for the WS to be handed to them.
The Indians had no such intention.
They played exceptionally bad baseball tonight. They were chopping wood up there at the plate while the Indians were working counts and executing fundamental swings.
Cleveland knows one side of a 1-3 comeback, time to remind them of the other side.
So far this series reminds me of 1995... youthful powerhouse that's young, dumb and full of getting outmatched by a team that doesn't have the pure talent but can pitch, is well managed and just executes relentlessly.
I can assure you that nobody around here is popping the champagne. And we do know the other side of a 3-1 comeback- when the Red Sox came back on the Tribe in the 2007 ALCS. This isn't even close to being over.
