You must type a lot faster than I do. ^
I was in New York City at the NBA store on sat and guess what. SPURS merch sells a LOT!! Guess what was there......SUNS merch. Why you ask, and the answer isnt because they stock more. The answer is because no one buys that crap!!!

A gig at In-N-Out Burger would be a step up for da_suns_fan. As it is, he earns his keep by making visiting businessmen happy in the restrooms at Sky Harbor Airport.
What do the other Suns homers think of Da_Suns_Fan and how stupid he makes all of you guys look?
maybe he can tell us how much Sen. Craig pays for a hummer.
There was an interesting section in Michael Lewis' (Moneyball, Blind Side, New New Thing) book Next, where he was talking about how advertisers were foolish to rely on Nielsens for their advertising and marketing decisions. For instance, beer companies advertise during football games on the basis that ALL football fans drink beer, or luxury car manufacturers advertise during golf tournaments because ALL golf fans are wealthy. Eventually through dvr and tivo they'll be able to slice you into a niche demographic and advertisers can target you more precisely and in better ways than commercials, since you can skip through them with tivo.
The Spurs are extremely popular in South America because of Manu and Oberto. They're gaining fans that will most likely stay with them past their retirement. da_suns_fan is like the Bushies: he doesn't seem to understand there's a world beyond our borders.
Ficst.
Good point. As a business, I'm not paying millions for advertising without looking at that kind of data. Nielsen ratings alone just don't tell the entire story.
I suspect that the Suns are less popular overseas than all three of the Texas teams, but I don't have any hard data. Houston is a given.
Assuming I actually have a point, I suppose it is as follows. Overseas viewers and people watching in a large social gathering (bar, house party, whatever) are not represented in Nielsen ratings at all. Minorities, specifically African-Americans, are not represented in the ratings proportional to their numbers in the overall U.S. population. Three substantial demographic groups that watch NBA games are inadequately represented or not represented at all by the Nielsen ratings. It seems to me, at least in the case of basketball, that the Nielsen ratings do not model reality at all, much less giving a true percentage of households viewing the game.
Texans, this isn't what I had in mind when I asked you to discuss.
Don't pout! You all sound like a bunch of children in denial.
Im just telling it like it is.
Now, try again.
fail. capitalize your O mother er.
"Wah Wah Wah! Mommy, the meanie fans of other teams won't worship the Suns like I do! Wah Wah Wah! Mommy, the meanie fans are actually off an interesting tangential discussion of advertising practices that has nothing to do with how super duper awesomey the suns are! Wah Wah Wah! Mommy, make them stop!"Texans, this isn't what I had in mind when I asked you to discuss.
Just like a Suns troll to whine like a crybaby about how unfair their treatment is at the hands of Texas.
Punctuation, mother er, do you use it?!

Worst....post.....ever.
You should be embarrassed.Wow. If I were Findog, I'd be flattered by this, given the source it's coming from.
"Mommy! The meanie fans from the other teams don't agree with me! Make them stop!"
You Forgot our little French Man!!
Fin, that was funny but WHAT was funnier was Da Suns Crybaby crying about how it was the worst post.
I wont get mad if you don't agree with me. My goal is to spread the truth to Texans who don't know any better.
Im prepared to meet some adversity along the way, but Im pretty sure I've gotten some Texans excited about a possible Celtics/Suns matchup.
You guys should save up your money. It might be worth it to fly to Phoenix (or Boston for those living closer to the east coast) to witness basketball being played the right way by two championship caliber teams. It might be something you'll tell your grandchildren about.
Think about it and start saving because, lets face it, its not something you'll be able to see in Texas.
But that's outside of North American, if we go beyond the lower 48, then the Suns aren't the most popular team anymore and da_suns_fan will have to question his entire existence.
Did the Suns even win "Team of the Year" at the ESPYs?
Do they have apostrophes where you come from?
Its funny how he has hopes of making it to the promise land and when they fail he will be here crying like he was after the suns got eliminated last year.
I certainly agree that the Celtics are looking championship-caliber at this point. It will be interesting to see which Texas team will come out of the West to play them. , maybe even Utah as a darkhorse could make the Finals. Those four teams are Boston's possible opponents. Aside from my Mavericks, I'm wondering which of the other three I would most want to see in the Finals.
You know what would be *really* funny? If the Suns missed the playoffs entirely.
Hey Da Suns Fan, I think I hear the burgers burning, time to flip them!! Oh while your at it can you super size my milkshake?
