Not a fan of the close-up throat slash. That made me want to throw up dinner.

To each their own. I feel the same about Harry Potter. I'm still hearing references to it years afters the movies/books are done, but I just can't force myself to sit through them. Every time I try I find them boring as .

Game of Thrones is a commitment though. If you don't really like it, I wouldn't force yourself to watch it. There's so many characters and storylines that you'll be lost and really hate it.
my girl loves Harry Potter and has been watching all the movies the past few weeks..I tried to sit through 2 of them, and I just couldn't do it, I don't understand the hype..

I didn't think I would like the LOTR movies, but I did, I figured Harry Potter may be the same type of , but it really wasn't..

I watched all four and now hate myself because of it. The 4th one definitely leaves a bit of a cliff hanger for the next one which is now a month off

I think Snow is likely the unbeknownst bas son of Robert Baratheon and Ned's sister, as evidenced by Stark's hesitance to discuss the mother, and changing Robert's final edict to read "rightful heir". Kid is literally the bridge between the old Targaryen throne as being born of a married Targaryen Princess and new Baratheon throne as actual child.

Interesting theory. Not sure how much support it has in the series, though.
The rightful heir line was there because Ned was going to support Stannis, as he was next in line of succession (as far as the Baratheons go).

R+L=J is the biggest and best supported theory for Jon's parentage. There's a wealth of knowledge from the novels to support it. But the theory basically states that Lyanna (Ned Stark's sister) was not kidnapped and murdered by Rhaegar Targaryen (who by all accounts, other than Robert's, was a decent guy). She ran off with him, which ended up being the catalyst that began Robert and Ned's rebellion. Robert kills Rhaegar at the Trident, and Ned later goes on to find his sister on her death bed. The details of her death are fuzzy, but it's easy to extrapolate from the information that is given that she could've died from child birth complications. She makes Ned promise her something before she dies, something that continues to haunt him for the rest of his life. That promise probably is to keep the iden y of her child a secret, especially from Robert as he has no issues with killing Targaryen children. That could make Jon Snow (who has both Stark and Targaryen blood) the le character of the whole series "A Song of Ice and Fire".

I haven't caught up to all the new episodes yet, but can we all agree that swapping Fake!Arya with Real!Sansa was a good deviation from the books? Yeah, the books are supposed to be epic in scope, but there are quite a few things that could have used simplification.

Just because the source material was different doesn't make that difference better from a storytelling standpoint.

Well I'm guessing this season is religion and politics.

Mareen; fighting for their corrupt traditions but its the only thing they know. Its their culture.

King's Landing: fighting against corruption but have the wrong way of going about it.

They're both doing the right things....by going about it the wrong way or doing it for the wrong reasons.

    That ending lol

Tons of people butt hurt saying that's the worst thing they've ever seen. Um did they miss Dany getting raped in like season 2? Ned getting his head chopped off? Theon getting his chopped off?

I wouldn't say that, but it isn't as good as last season. To be fair though, I think that has more to do with the books than the show itself. A Feast For Crows and A Dance With Dragons (the two books this season and probably next are based on) are widely regarding as the weakest in the series thus far.

Or the red wedding. I don't really get it either. Maybe because Sansa's really the only innocent character on the show, but that also makes her one of the most boring. She's just passively gets passed around from dude to dude for their own political reasons without actually doing anything for herself. I was waiting for her to do something or say something, but no. She just bent over and took it.

who the ever said Sansa is innocent? Did we just forget the way she reacted to her father or even the most recent "do you think I care what he does to you" she gave Reek this week? Nobody will classify this hoe as "innocent".

Reacted to her father? And as far as she knows, Theon killed her two younger brothers. It's a stretch to say she did something wrong by not wanting to touch the guy, or even wishing him harm.

You can always tell what part of the show the writers write in, and what parts come from the book. The sand snakes are awful, and the whole confrontation felt forced/rushed.

Just finished Season 2. Definitely living up to the hype.

Favorite characters so far are Tyrion, Arya, Daenerys and Jon Snow. Least favorite are the rest of the Lannisters+Joffrey. Don't think I've ever disliked a character more than Joffrey...pretty sure he'll be killed off since he's both an idiot and a coward. Just hope his death is slow and painful tbh.

She is, but I dislike her character, too, tbh..really annoying character IMO..

This season has been extremely boring..really hoping Sansa dies, at some point, tired of seeing her, I hate the Stark family..

Arya's scenes have been pretty dull, the Boltons aren't interesting, the Sand Snakes are awful..just a really poor season, hopefully it picks up..

Not enough Stannis and the Red milf, tbh..
