I'll say this. Simmons doesn't look like he can guard smaller guards the way Danny can. Could.

He's not on Danny's level for sure. He also doesn't go around screens as well, or defend the post as well.
Overall defensively there is a gap.
That Danny has been such crap offensively is the problem here.
Pop just giving a chance to Simmons to improve.
Danny better wake up.

This is a wake up call for Danny.

Simmons has potential for us .. real potential, but he could easily have taken the slow road and be a year away of major minutes like this.

This is more on Danny than anything else.

I'm not so sure. He's out there yakking with teammates at free throw time, other little stuff... Plus, no matter how bad this team is, it still says "Lakers" on their jerseys. This is the real deal.

I kid...Simmons finding a role on this team is great stuff as we strive to be a threat to the Dubs as the season moves on.

Every time he plays, he acquires more and more polish. In this game he looks like his learning curve is starting to level out considerably. He is so much less raw a quarter of the way into the season than he was for game 1.

People still wanting DG over Simmons... .... play this guy a lot of minutes and get this er ready because we will need him in the playoffs. Chip work your magic.

All he needs is the three shot, he's pretty solid from mid range and his FT form isn't bad. If Chip can help with it, he's going to be a baaaaaaad MF.
