Brutal. I'll always be a Jimbo boy. Attended the Rose Bowl championship.

Surprised. They don't have anyone better nor big program move. Throwing money around?

He comes from a coaching street so should have decent coordinators

Raiders/Chargers should. Not talking buyout though.

    This is REALLY bad news.
The true freshman out of Florida, Baxter, did not look so good last evening. Lots of dancing in the backfield is taken as patience.
He needs to pick a crease and go. We gain 8 yards and then lose 4 on running plays. Very sketchy stuff.

Actual quote from the press conference today regarding Jimbo's monster contract extension a couple of seasons ago: "It was the right decision at the time."

They admit the contract extension was essentially a mistake because they say they need to learn from it, but it basically amounts to this -- It was a historic mistake and we would do it all over again. Aggie logic!

Absolutely embarrassing. The one thing I can 100% confirm and acknowledge is that Michigan Wolverines students and alum and fans are pretentious, self-righteous, arrogant d-bags. It’s the one thing they share with Ohio State fans. As a Michigan fan and alum, it makes my skin crawl. I despise a good majority of Michigan fans. And I love the University of Michigan.

I wanted Harbaugh fired after 2019. I was already tired of him. I only tolerated him the last couple seasons because the team had been playing well and he started to shut his mouth and stayed out of the spotlight much more. They won’t do it, but I’m cool with him being gone after the season. And I don’t even really care if they cheated or not or how much they knew. I figure a lot of programs either cross the line with that or tip toe pretty close. Don’t even get me started with how most major programs were with recruiting and impermissible benefits pre-NIL. All those mother as was doing it.

And I don’t agree with how the Big Ten handled it mid season. But as you mentioned, it’s the self-righteous bull . Act like grown men. Whatever happens, pull up your big boy pants, and take you’re damn medicine. Enough of the acting like a victim or martyr. Crying in the post game. Doing it for you coach garbage. Just take it. Win the games, shut up, and let all the play out. Stop being over dramatic es.

The above being said I absolutely love the idea of Michigan being a powerhouse again.
I also like this University and appreciate that college football is better when Michigan is a player in the championship scheme.
So I am a bit torn. Wish they would be great with another coach I guess. I cannot speak to the fanbase. I thought Ohio St. had the more seeemingly de able fans. I guess this is a subjective generalization as I know Texas has a bunch of self en led rich kids as fans as well. But they can’t be totally obnoxious as Texas has been mediocre to bad for such an extended period of time. Very hard to hang with a team who has unlimited resources and can’t seem to get it right. And the generalized excuse of “bad culture they are soft” is used for so many teams that have means and can’t get it right. It’s a useless excuse Imo. If they win, “winning teams find a way”, if they lose, default to “soft culture”. I would appreciate more insight that involves football reasoning. Jimbo Fisher and ATM was pretty easy Imo. Harbaugh threatening to go to the NFL each year and Michigan getting him back along with stable recruiting is very perplexing. Michigan is supposedly going to have the most players drafted this year. The turmoil does not seem to matter. These kids and especially their parents, want to know who their coach will most likely be for three to four years.

    The "cringiest" of cringe.
I was turning red for him.

I showed it to my wife and she said "for this stupid game that YOU watch...? or did the coach die? And the kid could have wiped his face clean."
So I have no right calling her out for interest in the Barbie movie I guess.

So Michigan as a school and how it bleeds into sports fandom is rather an interesting dynamic. I’m older than most on these boards. I went to Michigan in the 90s. I’m in my late 40s now. Growing up, Michigan was always viewed as a premier academic school, certainly much better compared to Michigan State. Required better grades, higher test scores. Ultimately it played to the egos of students that went there, feeling superior to MSU students, and really all other schools that weren’t Ivy League. Total bag superiority complex. There were sweatshirts on campus with like “Harvard, the Michigan of the East.” Total dumb that fed into the obnoxious at ude. And like well Michigan is like the only non Ivy League school that had a former US President.

The football program for the longest time was the winningest football program in the country. It may have changed a few times with Norte Dame. Idk who it is now. But forget that Michigan started playing football before anyone else, like in 1495, a few years after Columbus. Playing in the 1800s against schools like the Pilgrim Sisters of the Poor, winning 2-0. It’s so stupid. Like Lakers fans claiming the Minneapolis les. Then there’s the Fab Five and how Michigan students try to claim how they changed basketball / hip hop culture. Not Chris Webber and Jalen Rose and those guys. No they didn’t do it, the school changed basketball culture. The . Then Charles Woodson winning the Heisman as a primarily defensive player. Then what do think Tom Brady’s NFL career did for Michigan fan talking? Oh boy. Mother ers got unbearable. If I weren’t a Michigan fan and alum myself, pretty sure I’d hate Michigan because of their fanbase.

Anyway, closest college sports comparables I can think of are Notre Dame football fans and Duke basketball fans. That’s the level of obnoxious self-en lement and pompous self regard. And I say that very openly and honestly as a “Michigan man.”

i call it karma for all the dumb ass decisions that the school has made in order to acquiesce the good ol' boy network. but i'm afraid that the university will continue to march to the same beat.

Meanwhile, a very interesting stat and projection by some knowledgeable people.

Michigan ran the ball 30 straight times on Penn State to close them out at Penn State. Penn State is not devoid of NFL talent on defense.
Michigan will have seven offensive lineman go in the draft if they choose to leave. Ohio State better be ready. True Smash Mouth team.

That's what they should have done vs TCU in the playoffs. They learned

If UT would learn, they wouldn't find themselves in these 4th quarter nailbiters after having big leads

The fact that UT has actually won these games is impressive to me compared to last year. And Michigan had a very tough time stopping TCU. They had to play from behind.

UT has not learned how to get 7 OL ready to go to the NFL... go figure.
And honestly Michigan does not have to play exotic offenses. Big 10 is not very creative to try and get athletes in space. The Big 12 has to do this. The big 12 has excelled at creating offense with mediocre OL. Some very creative offensive coaches have been in the Big 12.

    Rumor for the board:

ATM has most likely chosen Traylor from UTSA.
