Props to the Mavs. Great game, especially for November. This is beyond a doubt the best rivalry in the league.
Spurs didn't deserve to win. They spit on the basketball gods in the wind and got hit.
Their defense in the first half was horrible.
Can't spot a good team 17 points and expect to win.
We didn't start to play until the end of the second quarter.
Tony and Manu didn't help Tim enough.
Tim should have gotten more rebounds.
Having said all that, if we had fair officiating during the game, Spurs win.
You can't body up someone taking a 3point shot and knock them down or off balance. Finley should have been shooting 3 free throws. Chances are good that he will knock down all 3. Then, we're in overtime.
The trip by Devin on Parker should have been called a foul (as it was) and not a turnover. The phantom travel on Tony late in the game was a bad call.
That's just the tip of the iceberg.
However, if we had matched their intensity from the outset, those bad calls would not have mattered. For some reason, Spurs were not amped up to play Dallas and Dallas was amped up to play us.

They said it was a lower back contusion - but no word on his prognosis for the next game. The injury was the last turd dropped in Manu's crappy game tonight!

Let's not forget him totally exiling Beno for the entire game when we could have really used his shooting with the second unit. Beno is definitely Pops token whipping boy this season.
Pop has a designated player he s on every year and Beno is certainly it. He could have easily gone Serbian on almost any starter the way they were playing in the first quarter but he decides to save the brunt of his wrath for Beno. His stubborness in sticking with Vaughn tonight -all night-, really didn't help our cause.
I hate his double standard on how some players get a myriad of chances and others are just thrown in the doghouse never to return.
Beno sucked. Vaughn didn't.
Vaughn over Beno was one of the correct decisions made tonight.

Yeah, what did Beno do that was so awful? Neither he nor Tony were playing that great, but was there one play that resulted in Beno's benching?
Also, Oberto was playing great and had a double double. Why didn't he play more late in the game - it was obvious Dirk couldn't guard him.

Oberto was playing pretty solid defense on Dirk. He was staying with him pretty well, he'd fall for the occasional head fake, but other than that it was pretty swell.
Beno let somebody (Harris? Terry?) go backdoor for a totally uncontested layup on his first defensive play.
Oh yeah, now I remember Sean saying that Pop yanked Beno because his man just waltzed by and got an easy lay-up.

So Vaughn's 1-4 with 2 assists and 1 TO was more than you think Beno could have produced if he wasn't yanked after 1min?
Please. None of us here are psychic but I would wager he could have done better than that line given the 11 minutes Vaughn was given.
I think it was a temporary benching, but when Vaughn came in and provided a spark he stuck with him.
Not to start or takes sides but this game did come down to coaching at the end.
