What the did you do to yourself, woman?
Lifting too many oversized people...did something to my elbow.
so manny, ultimately do you think it will snow in Bexar county?
If I had to bet on snow here, I'd probably bet against. Just doesn't look like its going to happen. Lots of ice and sleet overnight though.
so timvp will be right.
this weather is disappointing right now.
My uncle in crystal city says he saw some flurries when he was patroling the streets.
Kori and S y, what is coming down at your houses right now?
drizzle here in schertz with the occasional few pellets of sleet.
You didn't ask me, but I've got rain right now.
K, you're close enough to them. If thats still pure rain coming down, the forget snow. Maybe solid sleet later, but even that might be pushing it. Thats bad because rain is the worst thing we could be getting right now.
It's cold and wet.
Yuck. I'm ready for San Antonio's winter to be over now.

This is the weather station's graphs from the location nearest Joe/Kori/S y. If you look at the barometric pressure graph, you'll see that it was at its highest around noon when we were getting the solid sleet. Thats going to need to go up past that level for snow to form.
Cold air is denser and applies more pressure. So as you see that risiing, thats a sign the air is getting colder upstairs. Its kinda going up now, but not very fast nor very much, so I'm not too sure we'll see anything but rain.
I am getting the tink tink tink on the window pain from the freezing rain/ sleet.
NWS' latest discussion seems to indicate their best guess is that we'll barely miss out. It sucks that they're not sending up a damn weather balloon here, because that would tell us a lot of information on the conditions upstairs.
.DISCUSSION...
FREEZING/FROZEN PRECIP CONTINUES OVER MOST OF THE CWA WITH SFC
TEMPS MAINLY BELOW FREEZING. EXCEPTION IS IN THE SOUTHWEST WHERE A
WARM TONGUE EXTENDS INTO UVALDE AND THE PRECIP IS RAIN. SAT
IMAGERY SHOWS THE SHORT WAVE MOVING INTO WEST TX AND THIS WILL
CONTINUE TO CAUSE PRECIP THROUGH THE NIGHT AND INTO THE MORNING.
WISH WE HAD A LOCAL SOUNDING TONIGHT. 00Z SOUNDING AT DRT IS A
SNOW SOUNDING WHILE CRP IS A FREEZING RAIN SOUNDING. SO THE
QUESTION IS HOW DEEP IS THE WARM LAYER IN BETWEEN? FROM UA
ANALYSIS EXPECT COLD ADVECTION IN THE BOUNDARY LAYER AND WARM
ADVECTION AROUND 700MB. THIS SUGGESTS SOME DECREASE IN THE WARM
LAYER, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO CHANGE PRECIP TO ONLY SNOW. SO HAVE
ADJUSTED FORECAST TO KEEP SNOW ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY TO VAL
VERDE COUNTY WHILE TAKING THE SNOW OUT FOR MOST OTHER LOCATIONS.
WILL CONTINUE WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 18Z WITH CHANGES MENTIONED.
I just stepped out on the deck and it was just rain falling, no sleet. We're in the Encino Park area.
so, anybody else been having intermittent internet tonight?
I had about 5 minutes go out a few hours ago, but the TV/power is fine.
Starting to rain/sleet a little harder now...I am a little concerned about losing power tonight. That would be sucky.
FYI, the last run of the NAM does have the freezing mark at the 5000ft level past San Antonio at around midnight tonight, and even further past at 6am, but its been saying that for a few days and it hasn't happend yet, so I'm not believing it very much.
Apparently the power situation is getting really pretty bad tonight.
San Antonio CPS Emergency Line: 353-4357
San Antonio CPS Customer Line: 353-2222
Write them down now just in case you can't find your phone book later.
TBH, you probably don't need to call those numbers if your power goes out. They'll know.
