Where to speak of " tarnish " one has to question why such methods of defense weren't called in the series against the Suns?,..I'd have called this type of routine usage of the knee to the players body a foul but for some reason it never was,...Hmmm.

Where I’d like for the Cavaliers to win but stopping in to check the buzz from time to time. Regardless to who I’d like to win basketball is basketball and this post is interesting and there are some very well thought out understandings here,..so why not weigh in.
The Cavaliers having already been so mis-scripted trying to beat the Pistons at their own style has already cost them a couple games. Now compounded with Larry Hughes out they even get less long, experienced and skilled in the back court. With him being a combo player his absence also marks less depth that depletes the versatility of the forecourt on the wing sitting Pavlovic the SG position.
Billups has the physical strength and experience advantage over every PG of any scoring ability that the Cavaliers can counter with in either Damon Jones or Daniel Gibson.
Eric Snow has the strength and experience to defend Billups. But he doesn’t present any offensive threat so if he’s on the floor LeBron easily gets put in a box trap.
This series was stamped with coaches that on the Pistons side of the ball went with the established known. Where for the Cavaliers they were being mis-scripted to try to beat the Pistons at their style of game,..resulted in 2-0.
Then LeBron broke out of that mold and the series went to 2-1 with an early help push from Hughes defense, draw on offense as support.
Now it comes down to attacking the Cavaliers Guards and create a foul haven and force Mike Brown to show what he doesn’t know as in balancing rotations with any chemistry to be affective.
Once that attack point is breached methodically the rest of the positions will weaken and by diversifying the attack. Whatever the Cavaliers have on the floor will merely be trying to stave off a blowout.
Not because the Cavaliers don’t have the players to play scripted roles to support a LeBron James effort to win. But they don’t have the coaching to do it and Flip Saunders no James Neismith either. But he doesn’t have to be to see what dynamics can now be a seizing of this series by force.
The Cavaliers coach blew it by trying to play the Pistons style and pace with a 100 percent healthy athletically superior nucleus. Now he’s lost a starter quality contributor and no less a combo player.
So with what he’s shown that he doesn’t know about floor chemistry, matchup offsets and countering as the machinations of coaching. Now he can’t speed up the game because he’s lost depth and this game 4 can be over as early as halftime.
People will say the Pistons won this series via the Cavaliers loosing Hughes but that’d be incorrect. It comes down to how you script and attack and you can’t blow opportunities. Although the Cavaliers were scripted to have done just that and blown too many chances and looks even with Larry Hughes on the floor.
So now the Hughes injury is just something else that didn’t go in their franchise favor that didn’t stop the Pistons from advancing.
He was derailed by Hughes’s defense thus far and via the Cavaliers mis-scripted style of play. The Pistons managed to be up 2-1 and now I see Billups emerging either having monster game in dishing assists or scoring in the twenties winning going away,..possibly managing both now being able to exploit the Cavaliers absence of coaching and a all thumbs GM amassing such an imbalanced roster.
The bold parts are the comments that essentially have you suggest the Pistons will end up winning the series.

Well you know { and called } Flip Saunders mindset better than I’d presumed. See to me focusing on trying to get the TO’s wasn’t nearly as important a focus. As challenging the rookie on the attack to create fouls, disrupt his offense and get to the other reserves,..and getting those turnovers didn’t limit his minutes nor do any of the rest of that for his 35 minutes either.
I’m certainly not complaining but having recognized and said that Flip Saunders is far off from being James Neismith. That was a known but tonight he showed just how far off that mark he is,..light years away and off the mark.
Granted away from what was stated and believed that Hughes wouldn’t be able to go. But in fact Hughes did start and was able to steal minutes but he was clearly limping and the question is,..why didn’t Saunders attack with Flip Murray in rotation and let Jason Maxiell play more to energize the interior looks it’d create?
I’ll take a win anyway they come and I’ll certainly this one. But more than the Cavaliers having won this one Flip Saunders blew this game BIG TIME,..WOW !!!
In review Chauncy got the points off the looks that were going to be there with Hughes hobbled. But Saunders didn’t capitalize by going with the more athletic Flip Murray in rotation,..why force Billups to play 45 minutes and not keep him fresh with Murray in sub rotation?
Going in what I saw was that was the key to forcing the action from where the Cavaliers were weakened by Hughes injury. Which was the area to force backcourt pairings in rotation to seize the advantage from that very area,..Saunders split the rotation minutes with a 36 year old Lindsey Hunter at SG defensively trying to match energy with a 21 year old rookie?
Flip Saunders should have scouted and seen enough to know Gibson would cook him by out quicking him with his energy and shooting range. From a game perspective why have veteran depth to attack and sustain with if you don’t know how to use it?,..for me a choice between Murray –vs- Hunter to force the action is a no brainer.
Chris Webber never got off and allowed Rasheed to get doubled and the balance suffered in starving the interior. All Flip Saunders got was points from the backcourt and missed the look. To use his depth at the position to force Mike Brown to go to his bench and show him more of an out of sync Damon Jones and non offensive Eric Snow to try to counter.
If either of these teams had better coaches this series wouldn’t be locked up at 2-2,..but as an Ohioan I’m glad Flip Saunders has very limited court vision and don’t have a high basketball IQ either.
