inside Texas says fenves wants texas to join pac12 in realignment..........terrible idea 9:30 games
Eventual realignment: The word here is that with Greg Fenves at the helm the Pac 12 is the only option. A big issue in chancellor interviews was aligning the University with like-minded academic ins utions. Realignment was a big topic when USC big-wigs made it to Austin in September. There were lots of alumni mixers and even a Ryder Cup styled golf event between big shots from each school. The Pac is a cultural fit, and academic fit, and the money will undoubtedly make sense. Now, what will CDC do about the time change???

Pac 12 might be in a bigger mess than the Big 12. Schools can't possibly be happy with how things are working out for them. I'm okay with a move to the Pac because it will further open up California recruiting. I'll take that any day. When you talk about the Big 3 recruiting states, it makes perfect sense to pick a conference that can either open California or Florida. Also keep in mind, two conferences share Florida, only the Pac can call California home.
Also let not forget out west would be much better road trips, Phoenix, SLC, Boulder, LA, San Fran, Portland, and Seattle.
Also, lets not forget, if they divide up the conference like I believe they will, Texas will end up with 7 division games and only two non division games, this means the likelihood is only 1 late start game a year.
Lets pretend for a moment that Texas blOwU Okie Lite and Kansas join the Pack. Texas would likely be in the same division as the 3 big 12 schools plus the Arizona schools, Colorado and Utah. None of those schools are going to have 9:30 kickoffs, that leaves just 2 inter-division games one home and one away. Thus, the likelihood is one late start game per year.
It would be interesting if Colorado, Utah, and AZ schools are willing to vote themselves out of the California market. Larry Scott may not have the votes this time
Yes I am counting Shepherd. They might not take more than five. But IMO there needs to be 17 OL. Three deep plus a couple of extras.
The PAC does not make sense to me at all. California is too far away and the time zone is an issue. Let's not forget we do more than play football. There are other sports to consider as well. If the Big XII (minus 2) collapses then I guess it may be the best option but the Big XII is fine enough as much as I don't want to admit it. The conference isn't what's holding us back... and look how a change to the Big 10 ( a better academic conference than the Big XII) has worked out for Nebraska.
Even the Big 10 is too far. , West Virginia is too far.
agree... a lot of fans will lose interest. I hate to admit it but there's only one conference that can instantly add multiple 100 yr rivalries within driving distance in order to fill a 105-110 seat stadium (assuming expansion)
ing realignment talk is just the worst. I swear to God the old thread on Shaggy made my eyes bleed.
sorry didnt mean to derail thread here is recruiting
Nah man, it’s cool. It’s just tiresome because there are no good scenarios. They’ll never join the SEC and the other two options (other than the conference they’re in) are too ing far and will require partners and acts of God. It makes my head hurt.
