Hey AHF, did they officially move the game to Thursday yet?
, Manny...both NAM and GFS have that thing wobbling around like it drank a case of tequila...
If GFS ends up being right, Houston/Galveston is going to take it right in the ass...with sand...
This is a message from God. The end is near.
thanks Mandy.
heard on the Ticket this morning (they were interviewing someone from the Weather Channel) that if she hits right, we could get winds in downtown up to 60-70mph. Don't know how accurate that is but that is what he said. What level of wind speed are we looking at in San Antonio de Bexar?
I have been thru one here passing before.. it blew down trees and power was out all day.. so expect about the same thing if it tracks up here.. tornadoes too...
Yep, 7:30 kickoff. Probably the one and only positive to come out of this storm - Fox Sports SW is picking up the game. KAMU, the local station, is doing the vid, and uplinking to Fox Sports SW who will beam it throughout its viewing area.Hey AHF, did they officially move the game to Thursday yet?
Damnit, it sucks that something that looks so beautiful and perfect is going to really everything up...

Sweet, thanks for the info.
okay - I've got a question:
What should I do with my dog????
My dog, Mr. Big, lives at my mom's. My 7yr old brother has been "borrowing" him for almost 2 yrs. the thing is that Mr. Big HATES riding in the car.. and he grew out of his carrier a long long time ago. We havn't needed to get a new carrier becasue he never goes anywhere and the vet is around the corner.....
now with my mom evacing form Victoria and pretty sure that her house will not survive... we have a dilema!! She doesn;t think he'll stay calm enough to drive al lthe way to SA and actually suggested to me that she take him to the Vet and have him put down!
He's only 35 pnds and has a bum rear leg (was hit by a truck as a puppy).. I'm thinking they could handle him for the drive up here.. btu my mom is sounding less then enthusiastic.
dag nab it!!
I'm gonna try and talk her into boarding him... if she can find an open place ...
what do ya'll think?
lol don't put it down.. put it in the car.. let him / her go out fighting at least.. geeze..
Horrible idea to put down a dog that still has years left to live. If they can't handle a dog in a car for a couple hours, I don't know what to say. I couldn't live with myself if I had to put my dog down because of that.
Take the dog. Stupid to put the dog down.
Don't put him down. That's crazy. So what if he hates riding in cars...I hate working out but I do it anyway. lol He'll just have to get used to it.
I think I should start working out.
I think a vet can give you a sedative for the dog so he can crash out during the car ride. You should probably ask the vet what you can do, but for Christ's sake don't put him down.
I agree, that's weak even thinking about putting the dog down.
Back to Rita...
7-8 foot surge in Florida panhandle right now from the storm.
This thing is gonna rock the coast, and if NO gets that same surge they are hosed again.
I give my dog, who's about 40 lbs, half a Benadryl before I drive from my place to SA. She's usually asleep in fifteen minutes. I've heard for smaller dogs to give them a baby aspirin to fall asleep, too.
My dog just passes out in the car.
We gave our dog dramamine once. It worked. We had just started out on a trip many years ago and we took our 7month old puppy with us. Come to find out he was car sick. He was throwing up every 15-20 minutes. We were in a pick up truck and he was riding between me and my husband. We were desperate so we got some dramamine and it worked....he was sleepy and we really watched for any signs of distress. After a couple of days he got the hang of car riding.![]()
The forcast calls for sustained winds in the 40-50 mph range. I think that is safe if not a bit higher than what we'll see. The storm is almost certainly going to come in east of here, so we'll be on the dry west side of the storm with windy conditions. Nothing to be too worried about.
Good news!!
Mom is bringing the dog. she said she was just frustrated when she made the "put him to sleep" comment. I've forgiven her.
She;s vringing the dog and my baby bro and some stuff tonight, going back tonight . packing up with other kids and Bob and leaving Vic. in the morning around 9am.
thank god!
BTW- i'm relaying the baby aspirin/dramamine/benedryl tips.
thanks!
