No he knows the time, its like time in real life
24 is original because time goes forward in real time, 5 minutes of tv show is five minutes of real time
split screen also allows viewers to know the characters have the ability to know other things are going on, and people are doing what they do while they themselves are engaged in action/fed/cia/terrorism
24 appeals to chickenhawks and neocons
Okay, how about we like 24 because it entertains us for an hour or so every week and it is interesting enough that we keep coming back the next week with our own theories to see if we have guessed correctly. Does that answer work for you?
Now as for Lost, that doesn't even cause a blip on my interest radar. And Desperate Housewives faded after the first season for me. It got to be more like a comic book and just held no interest for me. Grey's Anatomy continues to peak my interest although I am finding myself getting interested in ER again this year since John Stamos joined the cast. He is really good and a very intense personality on the show.

Was he a regular character last season? I'm a fan of his since Full House and I might get interested in watching ER again this year.
For 24, I hope Jack Bauer will continue to kick some asses.

For those in San Antonio WHO DIDN'T SEE FAYED GET CAUGHT, it looks like KABB HDTV is re-showing Prison Break (so maybe 24, too).

Best moment of the season by far came this episode. Fayed's getting the crap kicked out of him in the bar, Jack saves the day, and what's the first order of business after stopping the people from kicking his head in? He boots Fayed in the face like a FIFA champ.
