Probably, but I know Austin Energy was asking people to call in if their power went out, so I figure CPS would do the same.
We were just getting some sleet. I've got 3 tall oaks and a cedar tree in the back yard and they are totally bent over. Same with the tall red tips I have in front.

Boerne seems to have a good amount of snow on the ground. And thats JUST north of here, so WTF? Com'on SNOW!
so who's not going to work tomorrow?
I hate that I have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out. either way I don't think I'm gonna be going
I don't work tomorrow either, need someone to keep you company?
I'm not, but then again, I wasn't scheduled.![]()
Trust me, those roads are going to get much worse in the next 8 hours. Theres just no escaping that. Unless it all switches to snow soon, then we're ed. Even if that happend, we're still pretty ed.
At this point its sit and hope your power doesn't go out. God damn, I'll freeze if the power goes out![]()
I have to wait too.. and if it does clear up by noon that's exactly when I have to start getting ready to leave. I don't want to work tomorrow!!
I hope tomorrow pans out just like today did.![]()
Ooh.. I can pretend the power went out over here!![]()
Better hope the boss isn't a poster.
We'll just chill here in the morning and see what the weather does.
I'm not too sure we'll get better before noon. The warmest part of the day isn't until 3-4, and we might hit 34 or so. So at noon it might very well be 32 and nothing will have started to melt. And when it does start to melt it doesn't happen right away, so while I understand the places like ACCD and employers not wanting to cancel an entire day again, I doubt they'll have any other option tomorrow morning.
man we were stuck home ALL day!
not that I wouldn't mind another day. it was kind of nice being inside all nice and toasty![]()
I thought of that!! lol
What about tomorrow night? If I work I wouldn't get out until 9 and I don't want to get stuck downtown.. I live all the way on the northside.
Its gonna be cold tomorrow night too.
Depends on how warm it gets tomorrow afternoon. If it never gets above freezing, then of course the ice will never melt and it'll be horrible tomorrow evening too.
Steve Browne said IF we get flurries, it will be early in the morning. Mostly sleet/freezing rain.
I don't think you should go
but if you absolutely have to... you BETTER drive like a normal person![]()
actually, should drive like you're 84
JB...thanks for the numbers, I was going to look it up when I got internet back.
I am suppose to go into to work at 8am, even thought I am 5 miles away, I may not go in until 10 or 11am.
If you all will say a prayer tonight for the Police, Fire, EMS, CPS, TxDOT and other "poor bas s" that have to work tonight in this mess, I would appreciate it!
Beck, I'm sure we'd all just be happy if you guys could kick your feet up in the station houses....
I'll definitely do that. You be careful out there tomorrow!
I hope they do...I on the other hand am at home under the covers staying dry and warm.
well one TXDOT worker mentioned that he was pulling a 34 hour shift
god bless 'em!!
LuvBones ...I will even if I go to work later in the morning...
Sonia....Damn, TxDot guys pulling a 34???? I guess they get alittle downtime for a quick nap and a quick bite. Definately....God Bless Those Guys!
