His enthusiasm is palpable and I LOVE it.
couldn't agree more. Arena and Bradley were both stonefaced all the time.

Haven't seen this much emotion from a US manager since Bora

    Notes:

-Jurgen has smiled more this game than Bradley's entire tenure as coach. It's good to see someone different at the touchline. His subs were on point too. Bradley reached his peak and did what he could.
-Beckerman was solid but will most likely be replaced by Holden in the future....OR Jones if he doesn't get his together
-Agudelo/Jozy up top will be very dangerous if Klinsy wants to have 2 strikers up top. Buddle just isn't international material
-Brek has surpassed all my expectations and he showed why Manchester United called him up for a trial
-Jose Torres @ CAM is unreal. He will dominate that CONCACAF. Castillo was beyond nervous. He settled in but some of his touches were a little off....solid job Dos Santos. He can actually use his speed unlike Bornstein. When he gets more comfortable, he will be blazing up the field with Chandler on the right wing.
-Torres and Orozco/Boca were my players of the game....extremely solid
-Harkes needs to be stopped immediately. ESPN should consider anyone else. ANYONE ELSE...........except Wynalda.
I mostly agree with these points, but definitely want to see Freddy worked into the equation in the future

Also I really get tired of people saying the USMNT talent pool is weak. Look at what was on display tonight and how many of those players had no chance to play during Bradley's era. That er MADE the pool shallow.

    America Wins World Cup, 1-1!!!

When the NY Red Bulls won the Emirates Cup by tying Arsenal 1-1, I immediately thought of US-England and Spurstalk

Watching that match makes me hate Bob Bradley even more.

I really hope Beckerman gets another look. He's nothing but solid in everything he does. He's been that way for years now.

Allow me to be a little negative for a moment.

    Buddle... horrible.

Agudelo, I'm really sick of watching you try too hard to go 1-on-1 and dribble into 3 guys and lose possession. Teamwork, kiddo.

Okay that's about it other than I don't like how passive we were for the first 35 minutes or so.

Buddle wasn't horrible. That wasn't his fault at all. Haters!

Juan did piss me off taking too many touches though. Sometimes you should just pass or shoot. He's young though - that will come.

Here is what Steve Davis (Sports Illustrated) had to say about Buddle tonight in his player ratings:

F, Edson Buddle, 3 -- Count him among the men for whom this was more or less an audition. Only, he didn't seem to get it. Klinsmann isn't just looking for technical ability; he's looking for desire and willingness to find a way. So Buddle, a lone striker, needed to fight more for balls nearby, maybe shake something loose off a turnover. He needed to make that extra run. Yes, he was stranded as that lone forward, with no natural connection to Jones, Torres or Donovan. Still, that's all the more reason to bust his butt every time a ball did come near.

Okay, I've watched the sequence that led to Rogers goal a bunch of times... how was Agudelo not called offsides on the throw in? Was there a Mexican player on the far side of the field keeping him on? I'm just not getting it.

GK as in a Goal Kick?

    No offsides during throw-ins...
No offisdes in your half of the field...
No offsides during corner kicks (for obvious reasons)...

Offsides are called on players during goal kicks if they are on the opposing half of the field in an offsides position...

    and

Offsides are also called during free kicks...

    this.

Offsides are only valid on the opponent's pitch, no matter where the pass came from (GK, FK, regular in game play, etc). If a player is on it's own side when the pass is made, he's never offside.

99% sure that you're never OS during a GK and the half does not matter.

Chivas is actually playing fairly well this season and I don't understand them passing on Adu. Great news for the Union, IMO. Mawanga + Adu is a good combo up front.

    Rangamerica!

Rangers have signed Bedoya and Bocanegra. It looks like both will be able to play in the Europa league along with Edu.

Bornstein --> Castillo --> Fabian Johnson

Another German - US international playing in the Bundesliga. Would be another upgrade at LB or attacking midfielder. This is just what I expected when Klinsi got the reigns. Holla at a playa when you see him on the street.
