Dolphins cut ties with Vick, Wright, IwuchukwuAssociated Press
DAVIE, Fla. -- Marcus Vick's stint with the Miami Dolphins is over.
Vick, signed last season as a free agent receiver after a troubled career as Virginia Tech's quarterback, was among three players waived by the Dolphins on Tuesday.
The Dolphins also released defensive tackle Manny Wright and linebacker Bobby Iwuchukwu.
Vick appeared in one game with the Dolphins after spending some of the year on the practice squad.
Vick was kicked off Virginia Tech's team following his junior year after repeated brushes with the law and other misbehavior. Last December, a 17-year-old girl who claimed she had a two-year sexual relationship with Vick filed a $6.3 million lawsuit against him, alleging sexual battery upon a minor, infliction of emotional distress, fraud and other charges.
Wright was reduced to tears on the practice field during the 2005 season when scolded by then-coach Nick Saban, and asked to be released or traded away last season. He did not play in the 2006 season, and was with the Dolphins for their first minicamp under new coach Cam Cameron last month.
Iwuchukwu spent last year on practice squads in San Francisco and Baltimore and signed with the Dolphins earlier this offseason.

Brady helps make cap room for Pats in Moss tradeESPN.com news services
Tom Brady has already made a connection with Randy Moss.
The Boston Globe reported on Tuesday that the quarterback restructured his contract to create cap space so the Patriots could acquire the receiver.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Brady did not take a pay cut; rather, he restructured his current deal that runs through 2010.
As part of the trade, the Patriots were required to take on the $9.75 million that Moss was scheduled to earn. After the deal, Moss tore up his old contract and signed a one-year, $3 million deal that could be worth up to $5 million with incentives.
On the second day of the draft on Sunday, the Patriots received permission from the Raiders to speak with Moss about a possible trade.
I'm still on the fence about the Moss trade. On one-hand, it's Randy fricking Moss! Dude, even having lost a step and a half (which could only be an offshoot of who he had throwing balls to him) still has got some decent skills. Even if he plays like he has the last couple of years, he's still an upgrade for them. On the other hand, he's Randy "you stupid-mutha- a" Moss.
Is it just me or does this trade smack of the Duane Starks trade a couple of years ago? Try and mine teams with crappy rosters for players who once upon a time were positional wunderkinds.

Moss is going to be a monster this year for the Pats. I read a report about a workout he had about a month ago and his trainer said he was running in the mid 4.3s on his 40s. The Pats are going to be scary next year.
