The Staggeringly High—And Shockingly Under-Reported—Rate of White on White Murder
Why oh why is no one commenting on the insanely high rate of of white on white murder? Bill O'Reilly? Joe Klein, of Time magazine, who devotes his whole column to write this week on black on black murder, in response to Ferguson? Anybody? Because bringing up the canard of black on black crime whenever a white man kills a black man is just how the right-wing—and apparently the mainstream—media rolls.
Note to smug white racists: Take a look at the real numbers. According to the FBI's most recent homicide statistics, Vox.com reports, "the United States is in the wake of an epidemic of white-on-white crime. Back in 2011, the most recent year for which data is available, a staggering 83 percent of white murder victims were killed by fellow Caucasians.
36 percent of those killed by whites are women, a far higher percentage than what you see with murderers who are black.
The beginning of an answer is to admit that we have a problem. It's striking that President Obama, who's frequently found time to comment on the height of black men's waistlines, seems oblivious to this torrent of white killing. To be fair to the White House, however, it would be uniquely difficult for Obama to address this delicate issue.
The real tragedy is that none of Obama's 43 white predecessors have addressed it either. Indeed, looking back on America's political iconography, there are disturbing trends toward the glorification of white violence. Peer inside the US Capitol building, and you'll find a monument to Confederate President Jefferson Davis — the leader of an insurgency that caused an unprecedented quan y of violent white deaths.

I agree with you and I don't see anything to indicate this won't as well. I truly believe that the large % of people want to see justice done regardless of how the shooting went down. But with incidents that fall in the middle, things seem to be split based on race and politics.

Here’s another follow-up to my article about Jim Hoft’s dishonest tactics in promoting his bogus claim that officer Darren Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in a purported struggle with teenager Michael Brown.
As I pointed out in the earlier piece, Hoft posted a stock image of a CT scan of a fractured eye socket, but apparently erased the words “UNIV OF IOWA” from his copy of the image.
Well, thanks to LGF readers @franklinftw and @loveheylola, I can now remove the word “apparently” from that description, because we have proof that Hoft (or someone who works with him) did indeed alter that CT scan, almost certainly to mislead people into believing it was an image of officer Darren Wilson. (And he was successful in fooling many right wingers, including Ann Coulter.)

Ferguson Police Profiling of Blacks a Major Funding Source for City Budget
Police singling out black commuters and residents is twice and sometimes three times more likely than their white neighbors. Once pulled over or stopped by the police, black residents are typically searched without warrants, fined, and/or arrested. Of the 60 municipalities surveyed in the report, Ferguson was among the three worst counties for vehicle stops and petty fines targeting black residents.
We decided to focus on three courts where we saw the most egregious examples.
And that was Bel-Ridge, Ferguson, and Florissant. And when we looked at their budgets, it completely supported what our clients were saying.
Ferguson budgets predicts that it will earn in revenue $2.65 million from court costs and fines per year.
And that number has increased steadily from 2010 to 2013. So Florissant is the neighboring municipality, and it estimates it'll bring in another--I think it's $1.5 million or $1.6 million net off of these fines.
So you've got two municipalities right next door to one another who've got over $4 million in fines that are being brought in, generally derived from traffic tickets.
I want to be clear. These aren't felonies. These aren't violent infractions. These are the lowest level possible contact with the criminal justice system. You can get tickets in these courts for not cutting your grass.
