Hope the Lakers move Ball out and get an asset for him (say the two Clippers picks at 12 and 13) and then trade the Spurs those picks plus Ingram, Kuzma, Deng and the Cavs pick (25) for Kawhi and filler to make numbers work. Heck, I’d want more than that to take on Deng’s corpse so throw in something else.

Then hope Kawhi plays 35 games a season and turns into a combination of Brandon Roy and Gerald Wallace after signing an extension with the Lakers next offseason and screwing them.

Some will be capped out, some know he wouldn't be the first choice and want the leg up, and it's better to win now then next year. Kawhi would also lose more contract rights as a free agent
