Well I would say you have to look at the quality of the wins each team has. Texas has the double digit win against Alabama and Ohio State has the win against a much inferior Norte Dame on like the last play.

I didn't watch much A&M but from what I read Jimbo refused to evolve with the times. With the resources and talent already in place I think there's plenty of coaches that could do better than Jimbo, tbh.
When you can get Kentucky football into the rankings, you're doing something right. I think he wants to stay there tho. I can't blame him.

If the Committee followed their own rules UT must get in before Bama. But Bama would have just beaten last year’s champ, Georgia.
So it would be, by the Committee rules:
Michigan
Washington
UT
Alabama
But this is essentially replacing Georgia with UT? What???? A Georgia that got unlucky?
I would love to see this actually occur. I could see a sudden rule change; Georgia in with Alabama.

yeah, the 12 team playoff is definitely going to create a whole slew of its own problems.
i'm happier with elko that i would have been with stoops. for those that wanted a splash, they need look no farther than the last hire. also, rc slo , who wasn't a very splashy hire either turned out to be a solid hire. he never won a le but i think a&m fans have to be more realistic about the program.

At first I thought it’s just not needed. It’s not NCAA basketball where the regular season is definitely not must see.
But then I thought of how strange and interesting it could be. So I’m in with Chaos.

Oh and, “don’t worry about sleeve under uniforms crap, I won’t set myself up with that issue in the first place” I think Elko will quickly root out Denver Harris type trouble, maybe not even recruit them. One UT “insider” (Hamilton) warned that if UT got Denver they would have to keep his boys away, too close geographically. Went so far as to say Harris needed to be far from Texas to do his best. Reprogrammed without friends to act out for getting in the way of his career type thing.
ATM also will not have to fear next years game with UT bringing a new start over team on the field. (I know this is probably not a fear for you, but with the rigid Aggies I have as friends it was definitely a consideration. No doubt in my mind) The schedule I have seen looks very doable for ATM as well, so starting over could be like 5-7 which hits home. Don’t need to suffer through that with Elko. Then after 3 years make a deep assessment.

They would have to violate their own rules to let OSU in if UT or Bama or both win their conference championships.
Ohio State will be sitting at home.
If not you incentivize not playing in your conference championship. Sitting at home and not playing.
If Bama or UT or both win by rules they leapfrog OSU in the CFP standings when and if this becomes true.
What would be interesting is a record difference. Michigan loses to Iowa and Michigan and Ohio State were theoretically in a battle for the 4th spot. This would be interesting as there is only a week between games.
This will be funny because the Committee says these problems will all go way with 12 teams, some from the same conferences of course. The 12 team system makes it more likely to have problems for the last spots. Even with byes for top teams it still involves the choosing of teams to qualify for a National Championship playoff chance.
Should be fun. Feelings will get hurt.

fsu has earned nothing........they play in the worst conference in collegiate football.........they trailed 14 0 to an fcs school they shouldve loss to a turrbile boston college team.........their best wins r against 4 loss schools........if the committee puts in oregon or fsu over texas they r sending a message that out of conference games dont matter..........the texas ad should immediately cancel all future upcoming ooc games against osu & michigan & replace them with uab to send a message to the ncaa
