Cept this old man made Hillary eat the exact same sandwich that the Magic Negro had fed her. Then avenged himself by hammering Biden in that debate like trout meat...made him quit...then hunted the half breed down, set her top rung on the curb "American History X" style & told her..."Now, say goodnight."

Nobody does the wet work like Old Man Trump.

it's so amusing that one obvious, originalist case against Trump is so easy

Trump 2.0 is the anti-Declaration of Independence

maybe one third of the 27 grievances against King George have so far already been accomplished

What's hard is beating him, even then he won't stay down, chases Biden and leaves him where he found him...then takes off after the half-breed and scalps her.

    Yada hey!!!

hard to see how the Trump EO singling out Krebs and Taylor for prosecution for espionage and treason by the DOJ isn't the functional equivalent of a bill of attainder
intriguingly, Krebs was an earlier debunker of Trump's threadbare election integrity gripes

it may not be long until it's "treasonous" to say Trump lost the election in 2020

Trump fired Krebs in a tweet in November 2020 over the agency’s Rumor Control website, which corrected falsehoods about election integrity, many of which Trump and his allies promoted.

Krebs was among the most vocal government officials debunking baseless claims about election manipulation, particularly addressing a conspiracy theory centered on Dominion Voting Systems machines that Trump's lawyers have pushed.

As a prominent critic of Trump’s false claims that the election 2020 was stolen, Krebs has been a consistent target for Trump.

new Trump EO will raise drug prices

But the solution in the Trump executive order is precisely the opposite: to expand tthe delay period for small-molecule drugs, therefore giving those medications more immunity from Medicare negotiations. “This represents pharma taking another bite at the apple,” said Steven Knievel, an advocate for Public Citizen’s Access to Medicines program. Under such a “reform,” more than half of the small-molecule drugs already in the Medicare price negotiation process would no longer be eligible, and lower prices would have to wait.

Specifically, the order directs Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to “work with the Congress” to “align the treatment of small molecule prescription drugs with that of biological products.” The existing Republican bills on this all accomplish this by increasing the delay period for small-molecule drugs, and one could easily be tucked into the big reconciliation bill Congress is working on.

You know that’s what Trump’s after, because there’s a little addition that says this change should be “coupled with other reforms to prevent any increase in overall costs to Medicare and its beneficiaries,” and reconciliation bills have to appear to be revenue-neutral. The only reason you would need to say that is if the extension of the delay period would increase the cost of prescription drugs for Medicare and beneficiaries. Which of course it would, if you have to wait four more years to negotiate prices on these drugs.

Trumplandia hates Americans and wants them to die so rich guys can marginally improve their profits

The Food and Drug Administration is drawing up plans that would end most of its routine food safety inspections work, multiple federal health officials tell CBS News, and effectively outsource this oversight to state and local authorities.

The plans have not been finalized and might need congressional action to fully fund, the officials said, who were not authorized to speak publicly.

OSLO (Reuters) -Norway's Equinor will halt offshore construction of its Empire Wind I project in New York State, following a stop-work order from U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, the company said on Thursday.

The sudden order marks a major blow for the company and the nascent U.S. offshore wind industry, which previously enjoyed substantial support as part of former President Joe Biden's plan to decarbonise the power grid and combat climate change.

I'm told that CFPB just RIF'd its entire Office of Research, including the division that sets the APOR tables, an obscure but incredibly important part of making mortgage markets function. The first time they stopped the APOR tables from being published, they had to backtrack and restore it.

The agency updates the APOR tables every week, using survey data for eight different mortgage products. The survey data comes primarily from Freddie Mac, one of those secondary-market giants. But it’s CFPB’s job to manually calculate and publish the APOR tables to keep the mortgage market humming. (Under Rohit Chopra, CFPB actually strengthened reporting of the APOR tables with a new methodology that was more redundant and less susceptible to the failure of outside providers to send the data.)

Yesterday, I started hearing from people worried that with the CFPB in shutdown mode, they wouldn’t publish the APOR tables. Per the statute, lenders could use the last published rate as a guideline in the short term, but if mortgage rates rose, those would quickly become obsolete. They could try to calculate APOR themselves, but that might not have any legal sanction.

Georgetown Law professor Adam Levitinexplained the stakes in a post late Monday night. Lenders would either not make loans at risk of coming in above APOR, or would raise rates on loans below APOR to compensate, costing borrowers potentially tens of thousands of dollars in financing. Home values could get skewed, and credit access could be cut for many borrowers. “In other words, shutting down the CFPB does not reduce regulation. It actually increases it because it results in the [APOR tables] being miscalibrated,” Levitin wrote.

Real quick as I'm losing steam: dismantling CFPB puts consumers in a *worse* position than they were in 2008.The consumer protection laws were still being enforced by the Fed and other agencies, just not particularly well. Now the signal is they won't be enforced at all.
