Depends on the TV; it's useless on mine. Game mode reduces the response time for your tele to help decrease lag. It does this (on most sets) by simplifying the algorithims used for up-scaling and de-interlacing that's being done by the tv. The picture's quality suffers a little in exchange. But this is only done on inputs like 1080i and 480i and not progressive inputs, so it really depends. My advice: never use it.

That's what I thought. I haven't a good review of game mode on a Samsung yet.

Trying to find the right TV is hard as . There's so many options and different prices every week it's pissing me off.

I've been researching HDTV's the last week because I'm saving up for one. I've read numerous times about "Gaming Mode". Does anyone know what this is and how it works? Also if anyone knows of any good deals on 27 to 32 inch tv's let me know.

I'm thinking about picking up either this one or this Sony

Ignore "Gaming Mode". On an LCD what you're looking for is a low response time. It looks like both of the TVs you listed have an 8ms response time, which is just fine for gaming.

Ok last consecutive post....On this Video if you watch it Zanzibar is HUGE.....it was already a larger map on Halo 2 but watch this video(which was leaked) and youll notice the difference...For rookies Zanzibar is the map with the huge wheel in the middle of the map...beach spawn with warthog,sniper and ghost and base spawn with rocket launcher. little tower with overshield..

Can any of your 360ers recommend a new game for me. My son enjoys playing games with me, but I've gotten really tired of playing Crackdown non-stop. He sometimes feels up to playing Guitar Hero 2 together, but we usually go back to Crackdown in a few minutes. It must be all the jumping and shooting and explosions that get him into it. He was mesmerized with Saints Row and Test Drive Unlimited before.

I was thinking Burnout would be a good game because of the explosions, but of all things for him not to like, he wouldn't sit still for the "Cars" game, so I don't know how another driving game will hold up to his tastes.

Have you played RB6 Vegas? Non-stop action, explosions, and a co-op mode. The casino levels are great. All kinds of distracting lights, sounds from slot machines and video poker, and all other kinds of stuff going on in the middle of gunfights. It's still easily the best game I've played on 360. You're always breaking in doors and throwing frag and smoke grenades, crashing in through windows on ropes, and so on. The only bad thing about the game are the ads for Axe body spray and the number of Dodge Chargers in the game.

I really want to get a 360 and play GRAW2 ... honestly, Vegas looks nice, and is fun ... but not quite the same as old school R6.

I'll have to try RB6, because I'm sure he wouldn't like Kameo. I've tried adventure games and colorful cute games before, but has to blow up for him to pay attention. I'm so proud of my son, he'll be a great man when he grows up.

Yeah, World War 2 was getting old, but hopefully they don't jump into the Ghost Recon realm too much.

I actually just picked up Burnout Revenge I know you said youre worried because of the cars thing but the explosions are things that any guy likes....especially since there are alot of crash scenarios. Like I said I just got it last week and I love that game I think the next one is due out in December

COD4 should be great, as Infinity Ward is doing it. They're building off a much better engine than Treyarch used in COD3 (it was the engine from worthless COD: Big Red One).
