Attorney Tor Ekeland, a criminal defense attorney who has represented high profile clients in hacking cases, has suggested in multiple tweets that Trump Jr. may be guilty of exactly that.

The charges Ekeland listed above are what the law refers to as

“inchoate” crimes, basically meaning that the crimes were planned out, and acted upon, but need not ever actually have been committed.

For example, two or more people could be arrested, charged and found guilty of the crime of conspiracy to commit murder even if the murder in question never occurred.

‘collusion’ is a synonym in this case for ‘conspiracy’. You don’t need to know the iden y of the co-conspirators or the precise details of the illegal act you’re contemplating. I think you’ve got probable cause in this case to get a search warrant or maybe even an arrest warrant.”

(1) seeking an unlawful objective;

(2) an act in furtherance of that unlawful objective.)

The agreement underlying the conspiracy could just be between members of Trump’s campaign.

All it would take is the meeting as an act in furtherance if they were trying to get stolen information.

So we would have to know he had planned with people he knew (or possibly just thought, hmmmm?) were Russian government officials intent on giving Jr dirt on Hillary specifically for election purposes. This would be the crime, not murder, in this case.

Its totally clear the Russians were trying to influence a possible incoming administration and then again after the election. Of this there is no doubt. And this is nothing new. The Russians are constantly trying to seek weak spots in democracies because it's easy.

The problem is what do we know about the various Trump players participated the other way:

-actively sought out help from Russians to fiddle with elections?
-Responded to known overtures by the Russian government to cause chaos in elections?
-Sat in on meetings with what they thought were connected Russian business people to get a dialogue going with economic cooperation?
-The above with the intent to enrich themselves?

keep going.... down the line all the way to just trying to establish some sort of beginning cooperation of any area of mutual interest. This is far from clear just because people sat together.

And This lady lawyer has a pretty clear purpose based on what we have been given so far. And it's very different from what some people are trying to portray.
