Its like the pledge of allegance when I was in elementary school- it seems weird and a tad socialist to force people to show allegance through forced gesture. I dont mind standing for the anthem and always do out of respect, but it seems odd there's a perception that people are required to do so. Didn't Monosylab and Findog used to have Dallas Mavericks as their team in their avatar? Now they have Portland Trailblazers and Oklahoma City Thunder listed as their teams. This is why you need to stay in college for four years.
