It's not the coulda/woulda/shoulda been Spurs part. It's the part where the Spurs are insistent on handing them over to powerful rivals for nothing.
And this time a Slovenian to boot.

If that is the case, what's wrong with this picture? The Spurs elect to sign Salim Stoudamire, an offensive-only player, while the Suns draft a defensive-minded PG, courtesy of a trade with the Spurs.

Now which team is the one that values defense?
If Dragic was on the Spurs' board and they gave him up to a western conference rival for a second round pick, then they're completely stupid. In other words, he wasn't on their board. They just traded picks. That the teams have to make each others selections is simply a technicality.

BTW, I'd say the team that values defense in the draft is the one that's seen in bounce them from the playoffs three out of five years, and the one that values offense is the one that couldn't buy a bucket for stretches during the postseason.

That's pretty much your boilerplate post, so why wouldn't you say it? Step up your game. This Drama Queen got to go. You because we drafted two Tau players who decided to stay longer, and then you because we decide not to get burned a 3rd time?
For the last time I just want you to know I DIDNT WE DRAFTED SCOLA AND SPLITTER, I CHERISED IT. What we did with the picks was what's wrong. Scola didnt decide to stay longer,we just "cant afford" to buyout him and let Rockets did it. For Splitter case, its over and we cant do anything coz its his decision. If we dont want to gamble with Dragic why draft him in the first place,is there no one else available?? Suns draft pick is unlikely to be high since they always in playoffs and the money is not that much. that..BUT YOU ARE RIGHT AND IM LETTING IT GO NOW. over and out!

I have never seen you cuss before...That is not very lady/man like!
228 can cuss with the best of them. It doesn't happen often, it takes a lot to push me that far. People really got a kick out of it the first time I got pissed enough at someone here to say " you" to them.

#3. Keeping with the previous point, why fortify a rival? Unless it's a deal you absolutely can't refuse, I would think twice about doing deals with teams for which the Spurs have a fierce rivalry with. If a 2nd pick was the going rate for doing the Dragic deal with any ordinary team, then the price for a rival, like the Suns, would have to be a 1st round pick.
They usually make the deal without knowing the players, so how do they determine whether they are helping or hurting? E.g., they just say we'll swap picks, give you next years pick, and some cash, how does that sound? When the clock comes up, they call the team and tell them who to pick.

He's Slovenian. They don't have a good track record as Spurs. He would have epic failed here, just like his countrymen Rasho and Paino.
