San Antonio 76, Los Angeles 72
SAN ANTONIO (TICKER) —Becky Hammon came to the rescue and helped send the San Antonio Silver Stars to their first WNBA Finals in franchise history.
Hammon scored 35 points and nailed four crucial free throws down the stretch as the Silver Stars held on for a 76-72 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks in Game Three of the Western Conference finals.
The hero in Game One, Sophia Young scored 18 points for the Silver Stars, who erased a five-point lead with 1:57 left.
Just 54 seconds later, Hammon nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game. After an offensive foul by Delisha Milton-Jones on the ensuing possession, Hammon made a pair of free throws on each of the next two possessions to seal the game.
It was the second straight stellar late-game performance for San Antonio, which posted a 67-66 victory in Game Two when Young nailed a desperation turnaround jumper at the buzzer.
The Silver Stars’ opponent in the WNBA Finals will be determined Monday when the Detroit Shock and New York Liberty play the decisive Game Three of their Eastern Conference finals series. The Shock posted a 64-55 victory over the Liberty in Sunday’s Game Two.
The best-of-five championship series will begin Wednesday in San Antonio.
Milton-Jones and Candace Parker scored 16 points for Los Angeles.

Would it be a little ironic if Silver Stars Vs. Shock in the finals?
hes right, im so sad!!!!
poor dude is gonna commit harry carry.
someone print this out and send it to the OP
Yeah, it'd be pretty funny if the Silver Stars and Shock met up after all these years of us waiting for the Spurs-Pistons rematch.
And you expect something more from Louis?
woohoo! stars are in the finals. and where's phoenix? oh yeah they didnt make the playoffs and they were defending champions.
Hence the reason Louis is doing it.
I've watched a few WNBA games this year and honestly the product is getting really really good. Its solid. I'm looking forward to going to a game in the finals.
How embarrasing is it that a women's basketball team did what your beloved Spurs couldn't: BEAT A L.A. TEAM!!!!!
Enjoy it while you can because your NBA team will suck balls this coming season...hey at least your girlie WNBA team made it to the Finals LOL

Good old Louis, as predictable as ever.
Not even a single mention of his earlier statement.![]()
Got Damn!
I just saw the news, Stars beat the Sparks? WTF?
Becky Hammon had 35 points? That's craziness, they should have invited her to Team USA...not that they really needed her. Probably pissed her off so she's taking it out on the Sparks.
I guess, the Men in LA are going to have to take care of things.
