x-rays were negative. Just a bad sprain. Not sure how long he'll be out but I can guarantee he won't play in the last preseason game.
Glad to hear it wasn't broken.

I feel for the guy, I've sprained my ankles a couple times and its the worst feeling in the world.

Speedy recovery to him. Also when you do the ice on it, do you ever get used to it? To me, it always made it hurt wayyyy worse.

ice isn't always the right thing to do for a sprain. if the tendon moved from where its supposed to be you can "freeze" it in a bad spot and will take longer to heal.

Not all sprains are considered equal. But one high ankle sprain I suffered after coming down for a rebound was the probably the worst pain I have ever felt and this is coming from a guy who had 4 knee surgeries. Couldn't walk for 2 weeks and I would have bet life that it was completely broken when it happen. Was surprised when it wasn't.

Ankle sprains are a fickle thing, especially the high ones. They don't just go away. The bad ones will linger with pain and swelling for months even though they're techinically 'healed'.

im not trying to be a badass here, but everytime i get an ankle sprain, i literally just jeep walking and act like nothing happened. i come out of the game or whatever im doing of course, but with this i usually recover as soon as 1 day! if im wearing shoes with no support it takes about three.

when i was trying out for the team in high school i sprained my ankle 3 times, in only two weeks. the first two times they told me to get ice, and i did what they said, but the third time it happened i was so frustrated i didnt tell anybody and just started pacing around pissed off, but surprisingly, it felt a lot better later that night

D-Will is one of my favorite players in the league and I hope he makes a full recovery. With that said, it does give us an opportunity in the NW Division. The first third of our season is brutal and if we can hang near the top we should be able to take our division.

How did I insinuate that one player's health has any bearing on any other player's health. Feel free to quote me. Give me a specific example. It's ok, I'll wait.
Then why did you mention Tony Parker, who had nothing to do with Deron Williams getting injured?

It's not like it was a situation where Tony Parker and Deron Williams collided in a game, and only Deron was injured; maybe then your post would make some kind of sense. But your comment was pointless as you shouldn't feel relieved Tony Parker wasn't injured since he was never at risk.
My comment was mean? Really? Well why don't you go tell teacher how that bully, Strike, was mean and maybe teacher will take away my recess. And since I'm being mean I have another suggestion. Why don't you also talk to teacher about giving you a few lessons in grammar?
Reading is key. I said the fact that your post made no sense, as I have shown above, is what made your post stupid. I could give a whether what you said was mean.

If you think anyone here thinks you're an internet badass/meanie for saying "better him then my guy," you're even a bigger than initially thought.

Utah Jazz: Williams' ankle injury won't let him play for at least two weeks
The Jazz announced Monday afternoon that MRI exam results showed Deron Williams suffered a second-degree left ankle sprain in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago and will not return for "a minimum of two weeks."
That timetable would seemingly rule out Williams for the Jazz's regular-season opener Oct. 29 against Denver as well as one other game. The earliest Williams would return would be Nov. 3 at the L.A. Clippers.
A second-degree sprain is characterized by partial ligament tearing in the ankle. The Jazz said the MRI "showed all bone structure and tendons in and around the ankle to be normal."
The Jazz likely will have to be conservative with Williams since he has to get through the entire 5 1/2 month-season after returning from the injury.
Kyle Korver said he talked to Williams on Sunday and said he was in good spirits. Korver said he thought Williams' goal was to return for opening night Oct. 29 against Denver.
"Whether or not his ankle lets him do that, we'll see, time will tell," Korver said. "I think he's sprained it a bunch of times before. He's never had one swell up on him like this one has, but he's sprained it a bunch of times.
"As much as that's not a whole lot of fun, it does help you for the next time it happens, you can usually recover a little bit faster."
Korver said Williams was "a little bummed, you know, but he's also missing out on some preseason practices, so he's probably not too sad about that."
Williams suffered the injury when he landed on the foot of Chicago's Derrick Rose on a three-point attempt in the first quarter of Saturday's game. He had to be carried off the court, taken by wheelchair to the locker room and left the arena on crutches.
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, meanwhile, said he was committed to starting C.J. Miles and bringing Andrei Kirilenko off the bench even if Williams was out for a significant period.
Sloan said Kirilenko's play with the second team was too valuable and added that he thought Miles and Ronnie Brewer both could help backup point guard Ronnie Price handle the ball in Williams' absence.
Brevin Knight missed practice Monday as he continues to try to heal his injured left thumb, which he jammed in Friday's preseason game. Knight is day to day and could return Tuesday.
