"People haven't even come CLOSE, and nor will come close, to slandering and bashing Obama like Bush."

dubya deserves to bashed, even imprisoned for violating FISA and approving torture, and lying his way into starting a bogus war and destroying Iraq.

Get back to us when Obama "will come close" to the disasters and incompetence dubya has committed.

I'm quite sure you and your ilk were bashing him long before anything happened that you could twist into being his fault, before you could jump to the opposite side on any decision that didn't go well and claim you were always against, to look back on every single situation with 20/20 hindsight and give endless hypotheticals to support "your" side. You've been a little mindless mob of second guessers, determined to spin any situation to your political advantage, since before the man took office, which is why it's impossible to take anything you say seriously. No president deserves the vomitious filth people like you go out of your way to throw at him, and Bush has always taken the high road despite it. I can't imagine hating someone the way you seem to hate anyone that doesn't spout the same inane rhetoric as you do. When I read the horribly hateful and completely ignorant that you say my first instinct is to feel really sorry for you.

I'm also quite sure that Bush wants Obama's presidency to succeed, as most Americans do.

    I agree

I disagree. eventhough JFK,LBJ could be considered mass murderes especially to vietnamese, there is a difference.

they didn't really start a war for their personal reasons. Bush did.
Iraq is the only foreign country polled that wanted McCain, and not Obama, as President.

The Iraqis, despite all of you ing about Bush killing however many gazillions of them; LIKE what has happened in their country. THEY are glad Saddam is gone. They recognize, although you are too ing blinded by hatred to, that it was other foreigners and destabilizers brought into their country that have wreaked terror on their population. Ironically, those people have not terrorized the people they were ACTUALLY killing into submission, they've done it to a bunch of short-sighted fools in THIS country.

the Iraquis, I guess; it's not about them; it's about the feelings and beliefs of the left-wing in this country. YOU know better than them what is good for them, right? Living under Saddam > Now, because YOU say so, right? How very open minded of you. How very Humanitarian of you.

    Arrogant. Clueless. s.

"LIKE what has happened in their country."

    Infrastructure destroyed,
    sporadic electricity,
    unclean water,
    broken sewage,
millions of refugees internal and external,
much of the middle-class/professional-managerial class as refugees or dead,
    unemployment 40%-50%,
    several 100K Iraqis dead,
Iran's influence in Iraq greatly increased.

    What's not to "LIKE"?

Iraq is destroyed, the govt is moribund and corrupt and weak.
No entente or cooperation between Shiite, Sunni, Kurd.

We'll see if Obama's election make any difference.

GodBless George W. Bush! FOUR MORE YEARS!!!

you dems should be suckin his , without his willingness to do what was and is unpopular for the betterment of the country, you wouldn't have your dem in office...

and it's just like boutons says...it takes years to undo the previous admins works!

bush didn't have time to correct all of clinton's fatal errors. like wildbilly shaking the al quaida beehive and starting the country on the path to mortgage meltdown...and you've seen the results!

    pero es que es!

GodBless Obama and i surely hope he is all that and a bag of chips...cuz i likes me some chips.

p.s. i sure hope they discuss all the pakistan missle attacks that have been ramped up.

all i can say is FINALLY!

Is Bush trying to Catch Osama before he leaves office? If he can present Osama's head on a platter Jan 19th, 2009...that would be splendid!

In boutons world, Bush is worse than Mao Ze-Dong, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot, Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein, etc. etc. etc.

Just to put things in perspective, in the Soviet-Afghan War, there were nearly 1 million Afghans killed. In the Iraq war, there are approx 88-97K killed and most of those are from insurgent IEDs.

Learn some history you ing bag.

    Dear Bush,

That little boy is doing everything it takes to win. So, you know what you guys do when he gets in office? You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it?

........... or collard greens or whatever the they serve.

    sincerely,

So the US Afghan fiasco, the unending occupation, what's the current objective again?, is OK as long as it's compared to the much bigger Russian-Afghan war.

    Learn some ing logic, bag.

The US occupation of Aghanistan will end in the same failure as Russian invasion. "It's Their Country" and they will outwait us.

In the meantime, the US will lose 1000s more lives, bodies, minds in Afghanistan, all wasted.

Since when do you care about US soldiers, aside from gleefully using their blood to attempt to make political points?

"when do you care about US soldiers"

You may have noticed that I'm tend to be anti-dubya.
His wasting 100s of 1000s of lives in Iraq-for-oil, including 4100+ US military, is my motivation. Starting a war and sending troops is a huge, sacred responsibility that the frat rat tourist totally besmirched.

Right-wingers talk super-respectfully of the US mlitary, but walk away when the US military is abused and wasted.

    He was classy.

    Magnanimous.

    A gentleman.

Ripped for being out of touch, he chose just the right touch.

A man who critics say only mangled his words.

    Conjured just the right ones.

I'm not talking about John McCain yesterday.

I'm talking about President Bush today.
    McCain gave a classy speech.

The president made a classy gesture.

Offering only good words for the man who repudiated his run of the White House.

But going one better -- inviting Barack and Mic e Obama to the White House.

To see the place, and talk about the place, and the pressures of the place, in private.

These were not empty words. The president took care months ago to put a transition team in place, so that a smooth transfer of power could take place.

President Bush wasn't so lucky when he was coming in.

Maybe things were different then. A lot of ill will then. Lots of hurtful words since then.

He wasn't even running this year but it seemed everyone, including his own party's nominee, was running against him all year.

If he minded, he didn't show it.

I remember even talking to the president on the White House south lawn about it.

"Does it all bug you?," I asked.

"Nah," he said, shrugging his shoulders and adding simply, "I understand."

A man at peace with a nation seemingly at war… with him. Some for good reason, others apparently lacking reason.

He took nothing personally, always handling himself with dignity.
Not by what he said, but precisely what he did not.

I've read that the president is as kind to the elevator operator at the White House as he is a visiting head of state to the White House.

I've seen it myself. Every time I've interviewed him, he sticks around and personally shakes the hands of each member of my crew, and then hangs out for pictures. Lots of pictures.

I know, little things. But to me, big things. That bespeak of a man far bigger than the petty things I see in the press.

Or hear in a harsh campaign year.

That ended today, with a quiet gesture today.

From a president who'd be in his right to wag a finger.

But instead, simply offered his hand.
Wow.. the things one finds going back a few years. Irony.
