Yes, he was. That's why I said that.
Seriously though, there's probably some guys out there that can fill the backup role better than Tierre. Your scouts need to get scouting.
That's where we got him from ... he was the MVP of the NBDL if I'm remembering correctly.

I think if the Lakers can get Jackson to come back they will be back in business as le contenders...I actually was beginning to think that before they even pulled off the Boozer trade.
If Phil comes back I think a lot of people will realize that the guy is an awesome coach. I hate his guts, but he is a great coach.
He may not be the best X's and O's coach but he's a great motivator and his teams are always supremely confident. There's a reason he's got 9 rings...and it's not just because of the talent he had...a lot of coaches have had talent, they haven't won 9 rings.
So now you add Boozer to the mix to rebound and you all of a sudden have a team that is starting to resemble the old Bulls...with Kobe in the Jordan role, Odom in the Pippen role, and Boozer in the Ho Grant/Rodman role.
Kinda scary...I know Kobe isn't Jordan...but neither is anyone else in the NBA at this time so that point is moot. If Phil comes back it'll be "on" again.
They needed to do that YEARS AGO. Who have they drafted since 1995 that is worth talking about as a serious performer? Other than Kobe Bryant...NOBODY.Your scouts need to get scouting
Their scouting has nothing to show for all their actions when compared to San Antonio's results.
Whott, there is no trade going sdown with Boozer.
Hmm I must have missed the announcement that the trade was bogus. I thought it was already a confirmed and done deal...at least that's what I read at LG.Net earlier today.
If not...good. I'm not ready for the Lakers to get back in the le hunt just yet. I want to see the Spurs rack up about 4 or 5 les first. We'd probably have at least two more les right now if not for them grrrrr...dammit.
If Phil doesn't come back, even better. I think Phil will be able to turn Kobe and Odom into a powerful team.
Along with the announcement by the Lakers GM that no trade with Boozer is happening. You also missed the announcement the Lakers made about their current head coach saying on until the end of the season.
The Lakers/Knicks are like the Yankees of the NBA. They are not interested in scouting and growing their own talent. They want other people to grow the talent and then they want to throw money at them. Kobe is the only exception to that rule and if I am not mistaken wasnt the logo still running the show when they got Kobe?
Bottom line is that at some point every team has to re-build. You can prolong it all you want but the sooner you swallow your gut and start the process the better off you will be.
The Hawks for example tried desperately for about 8 years to bring in talent. Now they are finally begining to come to grips with their situation. They set themselves back 5 years in my opinion with their dillusions of getting back to the top in a hurry. Oh and go back to the old unis please!
Hmm I am still reading confirmations at some Laker sites that the trade has in fact gone through.
As for the coach, I don't recall ever claiming that their head coach wasn't going to finish the season. In fact I thought it was do ented long ago that Phil said he wouldn't return to coaching this season....
But I do have a strong hunch that Phil is going to go back to LA, and I think Kobe wants him to come back.
They are running the triangle again, at Kobe's behest, that is a very telling sign because that was always the biggest source of conflict with Phil and Kobe. Kobe hated it, but I think he's figured out that he hates being an also-ran even more...I think he's realized what I have always known...that it takes more than talent to win in the NBA, and that Phil Jackson's 9 rings are no fluke.
Phil will be back with the Lakers if Kobe gives him authority...something I think Kobe would rather do than lose.
Coaching situation: Frank Hamblen has the reigns for the rest of the seaon. If and when PJ returns, it would be in the off-season. His girlfriend is even saying it's unlikely (and she wants him back the most) so I'm hoping it doesn't happen. However, Kurt Rambus and Brian Shaw were just placed in as assistant coaches so take that as you will.
The Boozer trade: Still a possibility, only one unconfirmed source right now says that it's off. Jack Haley was nowhere to be found on tonight's SCSR but they were still talking about the trade like it was a possibility. Word has it that there will be a trade of some sort and Devean George sounds like he knows he's the one that's going away for sure (thank goodness!).
The Triangle: Now called 'The Overload', I don't care what they call it and honestly, their offense isn't all that bad. It's the D that sucks, that's what they really need to spend their time working on.
Okay, that's my Lakers scoop of the moment, I really need to get some sleep.
Leave it the Lakers to F*&^ up even a trade these days, what a sublime travesty that once glorious franchise has become.
THE TRUTH LAKERS FANS = NO SHAQ = NO PARADES, get over it.
MadDoc
I think Lakerjunk just told us the reason he hangs around this forum.....
