both systems are imperfect, but at least one of the systems attempts to have things settled on the field.
    Tell that to Auburn.

dude, you're just agreeing with me. Auburn is a perfect example of the problem, but atleast the BCS makes an attempt to cure that problem. The AP makes zero attempt and is purely a popularity contest. The BCS is an attempt to fix the AP process of determing a national champion. The AP is minor league now. In the words of Doob "welcome to the 21st century"

So the problem is that teams weren't deciding it "on the field" and the best example is a team that got screwed out of a chance to decide it on the field? No offense but you're a ing moron if you believe that.

The BCS has caused far more problems and ing than ever before, it's caused coaches to out and openly campaign for BCS bowl spots, and it's allowed pussy little teams like Hawaii to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. And to think that the BCS was brought in to solve anything is about as naive as it gets. The BCS was brought in to exploit the problems in college football and make money off of them while offering no solutions.

And now the most worthless poll ever, the coaches poll, has been elevated to the most important. Again, the media knows more about the overall landscape of college football than the coaches do. Those guys DO NOT GIVE A ABOUT THEIR BALLOTS.

All the BCS has accomplished is raising the profile of college football with the monumental amount of ing it's caused. Nothing more. A national champion is no more certain now than it was 20 years ago. At least 20 years ago, tradition and respect meant something. Now we have no true national champion, every coach has become a sucking , and every so often we can enjoy a nice New Mexico State versus Tennessee matchup in the ing Rose Bowl.

    x100

sure the BCS is better than nothing, but it's like saying cleaning up dog crap is better than cleaning up elephant crap. Both are are still crappy.

you can't read. There are plenty of Auburns in the history of College football. Ask Penn State.
