Jax!
Jack with his skills now and his head screwed on straight, but Sean had some awesome all-around game and discipline that would be invaluable.
James White
I want dunks baby!
not really
Admiral/Jax/Horry in that order...
Action Jackson
Wow you guys are young. Remember who had the keys to the team under Tark the Shark:
Just kidding. The only answer is Sean Elliott. In his prime, which I take it is the premise of the question.
If we couldn't take Robinson back, I would say...
1.) 2003 Stephen Jackson,
2.) 2004 Robert Horry
3.) 2003 Malik Rose
4.) 1999 Sean Elliott
5.) 1999 Mario Eilie
other than Elliott and DRob in their primes, it would almost have to be SJax. The dude is fearless.
Nice list, 'cept I have to go with '05 Robert Horry because '04 Horry choked it up against the Lakers.
Sean would be higher if the team wasn't so stacked on the wing right now. But damn it would be nice to have either Horry or Rose in the fold right now.
Other than DRob (the obvious choice), I'd have to go with Horry in his prime...his clutchness was otherworldly.
SJax would be a good choice, too.
While he is the obvious best player, he doesnt help our needs. Were a little over crowded at gaurds.
So best SF or big men?
At there all time best? Id go with Willis, Kersey and Sean. Now if asking their best during how they played for the spurs, then its gotta be Sean. There was alot of decent big men, but nothing worthy of a selection.
Now all time Spurs?
Terry mings, Artis gilmore, Frank Brickaski, Mike Mitc
for fun, ZARKO PASPAI, however its spelled
Speedy Claxton...(a position we need)
DROB or SJAX. It would be tough to pick.
^Werd up. That guy could eat lightening and sh*t thunder. Wish we had gotten him a bit earlier in his career.
Sweet pea. Ngaaa, jus' playin'.
Stephen Jackson who would hold done the starting SF spot and Manu and Bowen can rotate the Sg. Changes the dynamic of what the Spurs could do and possibly could have brought the first back to back in 2004 when Jak was improved.
Buckets could easily play small ball PF, he had Dirk pissing his pants in the Dallas series a couple of years ago.
Outside of him, you'd have to say Malik when he was playing for the minimum, Horry before he got old, and just to stir the pot (I thought about this last night but didn't want to say it) you'd have to consider Scola as well.
Horry's prime was about 11 or 12 years. He only was a liability the last two years.
No doubt........
Jackie Butler with Vassilis Spanoulis as a close second
I cant believe no one has mention George The Iceman Gervin. With him on the presant team there wouldn't be a scoring droubt ever again. Just imagine though if we could get back David and Gervin with a line up of:
pg. parker
sg. ginobili
sf. gervin
pf. duncan
c. robinson
I think we we would go 81-1 through the season.
I hate to be a smartass here (not really), but did you even read the le? That may be the reason they haven't brought him up.
