No one knows a complete answer here but a lot of people suspect Sarver's affection for Amare has impacted several personnel decisions, similar to 2004 when Kobe was still selfish and isolated from the rest of the Lakers, yet Jerry Buss always made excuses for him and took his side.



Even though I hate Porter because he is a horrible defensive coach, most Suns fans hate him for a completely different reason. Porter is getting the same treatment D'antoni did and is being faulted for not making Amare "THE MAN".

But it's going to be tough for Kerr/Sarver, no matter what route they chose they'll be losing fan support/sales and will in all likelihood face a losing season. A bunch of fans like me want Amare gone and are willing to see 2-3 years of garbage to rebuild. The other fans think Amare is MJ's 2nd coming only as a power forward and think they will win a le with Amare as the franchise player.

They'll either trade Amare at the deadline or try to extend him next summer. If trading Amare is in Kerr's plans, he'll do it at the deadline or sooner. We basically see if Kerr is doing what he wants or if Sarver is basically telling him what to do. Kerr played with too many great coaches and unselfish players to think Amare is a leader. If Kerr tries to make it Amare's team, it's clear Sarver is in complete control.

I'd be curious as to your take on Robin Lopez. From an earlier post, it seems you're not too high on him. If not, why? And how about Dragic?

I'm not a big fan of Lopez. He was a mediocre role player in college and looks lost since he's no longer playing against players 5 inches shorter than he is.

I actually think Dragic has a future in the NBA, Porter just has no idea how to develop talent and get players acclimated in the offense. Just my view, most Suns fans hate him as much as SA fans hated Beno. Beno was lazy though, Dragic has worked extremely hard but like Parker his rookie year he had growing pains and needed good players around him. Porter takes him out of the game immediately if he misses a few shots, something Popovich would never do to a rookie new to not just the NBA but the U.S.


Dragic can get to the rim at will and pass out of traffic, but he can't finish at the rim yet. Problem is he's been on the court with horrible players who can't make the shots he creates. It's ashame because Dragic is a really nice kid with heart and passion for basketball. Phil Jackson reportedly has interest in him.

I don't care how many good picks Morey has gotten us but it sure as hasn't gotten us past the 1st round, and it doesn't get any worse than that.
