What team will you love when Duncan retires?
I'm sorry..you must have us mistaken for MAVS fans...we don't jump teams every couple of years. I've been a Spurs fan since 1985..my first recollection of any NBA basketball game. I've been there for all the bad years and the good. Duncan or no Duncan, I will always be a Spurs fan...

The Spurs vs. Mavs is the best rivalry because the games always come down to the last minute. Spurs/Lakers games are always marred by bad officiating.

Thank you very much! Now if you trully want to talk about a real rivalry, not those other guy ass matchups you all name before, this is the one.
Lots of People have died over this River-Boca rivalry. Now I don't know if this makes it the best rivalry or the most idiotic one, but there's no doubt it is BIG.
The term rivalry has been invented for River - Boca "El classico". In soccer there is one "classico" the other stuff are just derbies.

For me the biggest rivalry ever is Fisher / Spassky, this rivalry is all about rivalry:

    - Game concept the othodox vs. creativity
    - Schools : the russian school vs. the US
    - Cold war context
    - Little stories inside the big one: spying, cheating...
    - Psychological war
    - World wide interest
    - At stake the intellectual supremacy between USSR and USA
    - The noblest sport ever
etc... What was at stake was beyond a cup or a le

Within the list we should have:

    River Plate - Boca Junior
    Bobby Fisher - Spassky
    USA - USSR hokey
    RFA - RDA for soccer
    Cassius Clay - Joe Frazier
    Sampras - Agassi
    A. Prost - A. Senna
    Bernard Hinault - Greg Lemond
If we go to the past,

    Bjorn borg/McEnroe >>>>>>>>> nadal/federer
    juan manuel fangio/stirling moss
