if it weren't for you and the updates about the toros, probably a majority of the posters in here wouldnt even give a about the toros or D-LEAGUE.
You're probably right but the initial thought was "What?? They need all the support and publicity they can get. For Pete's sakes it the D League!"

Is the Toros official policy for no cameras?
For example at Spurs games, the policy is that cameras are fine (unless they have a detachable lens). I would have thought the Toros policy was the same.
SpursTalk=free marketing for the Toros through Chump Dumper. I would think they'd understand that having your product on a website that gets millions of page views a month is beneficial.
Hopefully, they'll re-think their stance.

I actually work with a guy who used to be pretty high up there and might still have connections. I work with several more than I believe are pretty high up there right now(but most likely in the wrong department). Without mentioning any names or specific incidents, I will ask them some questions and see if anything can be done about this. I doubt much will happen since I guess it's probably the Toros policy and not the Convention Centers. But they might know some ways to get by that policy.
If I were you I'd go talk to the Marketing Dept there(I assume they have one) and tell them what you do with your pictures and why you take them and see if they can get word to the Toros. You might get a Pass out of it. If anyone outside of the Toros can influence them and also get the true value of what you are doing...it would be the Convention CTR marketing department. You have literally nothing to lose by dropping by and talking to them.
What you are doing hurts no one and help everyone.
Seriously..the Toros should be kissing your ass and they aren't really in any position at all to be cutting off venues to potential fans.

I agree except that you and I both know of even more stupid stuff.That might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Hopefully that Toros guy is reading this right now and realizes that ChumpDumper and his pics have been responsible for countless people getting interested in the Toros, going to their games and thus adding revenue to their fledgling business model.
Great way to treat CD who is your best source for coverage and analysis ... not to mention free advertising. We'll go ahead and cancel the SpursTalk get together at the Toros game we were planning until we get further explanation on this BS.

LOL you ought to be able to still take them with your cellphone. If they won't let you do that they officially get the le of biggest ahole sports organization in the state.
But I am serious about the marketing department(again assuming they have one)...drop by and talk to them. They should always be interested in talking and you might be surprised by how much influence they can have....and where they can get you.

They have no way of knowing he was helping to PROMOTE the Toros, and was advertising and all that good stuff for free. Maybe if he wrote an email / letter to them explaining the situation, and asked for permission, they would grant it.

I took my S5is into the Toyota Center and shot all the pictures I wanted. That makes no sense whatsoever. The D League doing that is kind of like a teacher at the elementary school telling a parent not to take pictures of the Christmas play.
