i like the versatility. Head is always nice at home but road head is clutch also.
You are biggest re in all forum. Congrats![]()
i like the versatility. Head is always nice at home but road head is clutch also.
NO. Head is only good for his shooting, which has disappeared completely from his game. His defense sucks, and he is nowhere near a PG. Hill is much, much, much better than Head.
Nope..he hasn't taken your le yet. You've got it named after you.
this is all a ploy to force hill to get his head straight. he seriously has been sucking for a while now. after the start of the season i stated that other than the big 3 being healthy, the spurs will have to rely on thomas and hill. thomas has been picking it up lately. hill needs to lead the second unit against the lakers' second unit because the lakers' bench are usually the ones that wear out opposing teams.
we have enough back court scoring..
everybody loves to throw out the Spurs when it comes to any free agent or player rumored to be moving..when other teams hear the Spurs are interested, they'll jump at the player..it always happens..if the top franchise in sports for the last 10 years wants somebody, he must be good..
I believe this report is BS. I just got through listening to Don Harris of WOAI on the Chris and Jason show and he was reporting that the Spurs are on tap to sign Gooden on Thursday.
The Luther Head report I believe was done to create more interest in him.
Very well could be. I guess we'll find out.
Lemme fix that for you
terrible team defense
terrible man defense
terrible basketball IQ
NO passing (Can't pass without turnover)
terrible decision making
NO ball handling (Can't dribble)
one dimension in offense
There, Luther has the ball handling and passing skills of a center. Sadly he is a shooting guard in a point guard's body.
He is unfit to play guard in this league, but is too small to play SF.
These IDIOT agents are using the SPURS to get other teams to go after him....![]()
Yep..I agree!!
This would be up there with the worst signings in Spurs history if this has any legs to it. You would think we learned our lesson about "sign 'em to shoot threes" with Stoudamire.
Whoa? Luther Head? this is getting even more interesting...
Head is too much like Hill- both really SG players. Head is a decent player, though and I can remember a mad play he did at the rookie-sop re game he played in.
I say, let's go for Swift!
For a backup- Luther Head would be a good addition. He's not the defender Hill is and Hill is a rookie. Nevertheless, Head would be a good contributor, esp if Hill started playing bad in an important game.
Remember, we're not talking about a starting pg.
Gooden, will be an upgrade over what we have. Obvious weakness is defense, but he will improve our team and is a starter quality player.
Nevertheless, after the game against the Blazers and the Cavs, we needed a mindset and effort change, not just new players. After all, Tim and Tony are this team and if they don't play smarter, harder and better, then neither Gooden nor Head will make any difference at all.

Swift is headed to Phoenix.
With Gooden, we would have five players that you must guard.
After our team defense slipped even with Bowen in the lineup and without a second quality defender, we needed to have five players on the floor that must be guarded. With Gooden as a starting forward, we would have a starting five all of whom must be guarded.
In this way, we would be similar to the Lakers- they don't have players on the court who can be ignored. Even Ariza has improved his offense and must be guarded. He is working on his 3 point shot.
Head is such a great shooter that if we acquired him, he would have to be guarded. Hill, when he is aggressive, must be guarded. His 3 pct isn't terrible, it's just not good (like 35%). The really good 3 point shooters make 3's at a 40% or better clip, imo.
Kurt Thomas has been playing well for us really ever since that overtime game. And Oberto plays well on the court with Tim. Oberto is a high basketball iq player, great passer for a big man, knows where to be on the floor (knack), great at tap out rebounds, sets solid screens. And hopefully he will be seeing more minutes too.
Tony needs to work with Chip on his shot again. Repe ions and form. Also, better shot selection.
And hopefully in 2 weeks we will have Manu back. And he will need to be coming off the bench and play at the end of games too.
But, again, these last 2 games were really poor. I think the intensity and at ude must dramatically change if we are to make a run for the le. If that does change, then and only then can Gooden (and possibly Head) make a difference and give us a legitimate shot at winning another championship in an odd year once again.

Exactly..that's what I said earlier.
