When I was 13, I thought I had to hum and wave my arms to the side during every Spurs shot. If they didn't and I missed, it was my fault.

I blamed myself for the 1990 playoff defeat when they went ice cold in Game 7, because I was too excited to remember to hum and wave my arms. Finally my brother convinced me that I was being a total ing re nerd and to shut the up.
