What they've been the last few weeks. They're losing home games to contenders so no surprise they're getting abused tonight. This is a bad team right now.

I don't think we have enough ammo to win this game. Especially if we rebound like this. I would honestly go with Ely to start the 3rd quarter and bring in Marks against Bass. He doesn't have Bass's athleticism, but he's the only big man we have who plays with alot of energy.
son if you want to see "ice cold" then just look at our 1st quarter ...

I'm not sure who we can put on Howard. Maybe he won't be as hot, but I have doubts about Butler and Peja guarding him. Terry worries me as well. I would leave West on Dirk. Keep Dirk out of the lane. Make him settle for 15 foot jumpers which he can hit easily, but its a lower percentage shot compared to getting in the lane.
It's the 2nd half, it doesn't matter who you put on Howard.

Mavs are doing a decent job of matching Paul's aggression with their own offense.

Shot selection has been terrible the last few posessions.
That's how you can "contain" Paul. By matching his offense making your own shots.
Mavs need to finish this ing thing off. We've had a lot of bad luck w/ the rims, we should be up 20!
sons the game is over ... Paul and West simply can't do it by themselves EVERY night. Its amazing just how BAD this team is without Chandler in the middle.

It's not even just Chandler. Posey has been off. Peja is not doing much. We're struggling offensively big time.
You "contain" Paul by staying home on everybody else and make him try to carry the scoring load like Kobe. He can get his shot anytime he wants, but can he carry a team and do all the heavy lifting scoring-wise night after night?
well son we are playing a playoff team so that right there means that Peja will not show up to play .... Posey has been garbage for 4 months now

Mavs need to finish this off. The rims have not been kind to us but we sustained the lead.
Howard has played well the last week and the Hornets are notorious for an inability to contain wing players. He's had a lot of looks in the immediate basket area, not jump shots.
son that is because our "shooters" are all trash ... Butler is the ONLY decent outside shooter that we have and that fact is sad ....
it truly is amazing just how bad Peja has become. I knew he would decline in his later years, but my God he is ing awful. seriously, he isn't even NBA level talent anymore. If he isn't making his WIDE OPEN shots then he is 100% worthless to the team because he has NOTHING else to offer. notice him just standing around in the corners.
Peja needs more touches. We need to run more plays for him instead of just letting him wait in the wings for 3-pointers.
