The first set of 50 greatest players was from a span of 50 years, this second set is from a span of 10 years, Im sure there will be even more great players in the later years that will take the spots of some of the guys you have on the list.
Hey Bukefal, stop talking out of your ass, and go learn something about the Basketball Hall of fame, Manu is already a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Kermit you're an idiot, do you think that all of the great basketball players have played in the NBA? There are lots of great players (hall of famer players) that would have been stars in the NBA and that never set a foot in an NBA court.
Even though the NBA is easily the best league in the world, it isn't the only one, and luckily not all people are as ignorant as you and they care about other things besides the NBA.
You can't make a list of "50 greatest something of all-time" based only on your subjetivity, you need to put champions in there and out of those champions you need to take the guys with the most individual distinctions. Manu wouldn't make a list of 50 greatest NBA players, because besides that he got to the league at a relatively old age he doesn't have the individual acomplishments to make the cut (only an all-star, a 6th man award and a third all-NBA team) that's why guys like Iverson, Rodman, Stockton, Barkley and a bunch of others are ahead of him. But if you translate that into Basketball in general then you realize that Manu is an: Euroleague champion (MVP), Olympics gold medalist (MVP) and NBA champion (one vote short of beign finals MVP, so you know he isn't just a role player) among other championships and individual accolades. Take all that into consideration and in a list of 50 greatest basketball players of all-time you have to put him ahead of all those guys I named before that are better positionated than him on the NBA.
Exactly. And the older players would get shoved off the list because none of the newer fans would have a clue about them.
Let's just keep the list as the Best 50 of the First Fifty Years and move on to the Best 50 of the Second Fifty or whatever.
