Uhm... that chart shows the rise of unemployment occuring AFTER 2000. Assuming the large tick marks are 5 year intervals, and the last largest tick mark was 1997, then you have three more tick marks before the red line. 98, 99, 00.

The graph says in fairly big type that it started well before the 2000 elections. There's even an arrow to point that fact out.

Why you would pay attention to something so minute as details is beyond me.

I hate to sound like the grinch who stole en lement christmas, but basically yes, you're right. There are going to be a bunch of people who have to be told "sorry, but you're on your own". Unfortunately a lot of those people are going to be seniors who spent their entire lives believing that the government would take care of them. At least when we tell the 18-65 year olds that they're on their own they have the opportunity to do something about it.

The details have been laid out. What hasn't been been laid out is how to pay for it, because the Obama Administration doesn't have a ing clue.
