The spurs don't need mentors. They need a deep bench with productive players if they want to unseat the Lakers.

We could use Fab back a lot more than Bowen at this point. Of course, I would rather have Thomas back all things being equal (i.e. Salary). If the Spurs can sign Rasheed, say, and a back up like Fab (or Rasho) I think our big situation is in very good shape. I would actually rather Rasho than Fab just to match up from a size perspective against Yao or the Laker's bigs.
