my condolences to the hornets nation sons
    Thanks!

Now that Starbury isn't making $20 mil/year, this might be the tiest contract in the league, and the most annoying part of it all is that no other team was offering anything close to what we did($ wise and length wise).

Not to mention his chronic back problems, and that he hosts a BOWLING tourny in Nola every year. Maybe YOU SHOULDNT BE BOWLING WITH A BACK PROBLEM PEJA!!

Peja is about the luckiest athlete in the world. He makes a lot of money, lives is the south of greece in the offseason(maybe the most beautiful area in the world) and is married to a supermodel. Now I no why he never gets too upset. Here is a pic of his wife:

Here is a statement from the Hornets President Hugh Weber and GM Jeff Bower:

"There is no chance of him getting traded,'' Weber said sternly. "I don't know how to say it any stronger, but there is just no deal we would contemplate for Chris. I can't speak for Chris, but I think he was talking about the nature of the business and the fact that the question was asked the way it was.''

"I have not nor will I enter any discussions for him,'' Bower said."(Trading Paul) is not going to happen. I think what Chris said just shows his selflessness that he's not different than anyone else on the team.''

Realistically this team moves Chandler or lesser pieces before they move Paul. It's tough to move the face of your franchise, especially a very functional one. Peja could be shopped for expirings and other smaller pieces might go as well. Still, why move Paul if you can move Peja?

sons LOL at some of you looking too deep into this. do you HONESTLY think the Hornets will trade Paul? honestly? ... of course Paul will make the comment that "anything can happen". he isn't some egomaniac like King Krab Lebron who if would have been asked the same question would have said something along the lines of ... "no I won't be traded, Cleveland needs ME!"

sons the Hornets front office made terrible decisions over the last few years with stupid contract signings with Peja in particular. He is un-trade able and raping $15 million a year from us. Mix his contract with Paul's $13 million, Chandler's $11 million, West's $10 million, and Posey and you have little room to work with. Even with the Hornets organization making money and being profitable, that is still a lot to deal with for an owner who has a well do ented history of being cheap even back from his Charlotte days. sons we are on schedule to have the highest payroll in the NBA ... nearly ANY other NBA team in our situation would be doing the same thing trying to clear up some room, but no they aren't trading Paul LOL

even David Stern recently called out the Hornets in an interview. They are making money according to Stern (24:15 mark in the press conference video below). Shinn is up to his old tricks crying broke. However, David Stern knows the truth. The Hornets can afford free agents and still pay the lux tax. Shinn can either bite the bullet for 1 season, or be cheap and deal a key guy like Chandler so he can make even more money.

West and Paul are the only ones who deserve those contracts. Peja was such a crazy bad move.

Chandler and Peja's contract will hurt us this year and probably next summer, however they will become valuable at the 2010-2011 deadline, as they both expire after that season. We just gotta do the best we can until then and hope to stay healthy.

son that's the whole problem though ... we can't move Peja. no one wants a 33 year old jump shooter with back problems that is owed $29.5 million over the next 2 seasons. the ONLY possible way for us to move Peja is to include someone like Paul or West in the deal ... ain't happening. we are stuck with Peja until the trade deadline next season whenever his contract will be expiring.

look at it this way. try to dump chandler for like a second rounder to OKC. then next season peja becomes a huge trading chip cause he is expiring

Honestly, if any team is going to make a hard run at Chris Paul it should be the Thunder. They have enough talent laying around that they can give the Hornets some valuable (and cheap) players, so it could be more than simply just a salary dump for the Hornets. And Oklahoma City would absolutely love for their exiled son to return from that dump in Louisiana.
''exiled son''. LOL. The guy played two lottery seasons for you guys and you still can't get enough of his . jesus. He'd probably rather cut off a finger than return to a city where the county fair is the happening thing to do. CP3's been all over the city with guys like LeBron at the essence festival, mardi gras, etc.

Chris Paul was obviously being humble, everyone who knows the situation is saying this.

For people who are saying Chris Paul is saying he wants to leave, he said he believes he may be dealt. So, if he was asked a question, "is it possible for you to die tomorrow?" And he said yes, you guys would probably think it sounds suicidal.

Well put. He just put on his Twitter that he "isn't going anywhere."
